he is helpful but has a bad or mean way of saying it
Can you please give me an example of when he was being genuinely helpful?
I read through all the comments of his I could find to see if I could deduce a reason for this behavior, and it appears to be a standard case of someone who escapes the pressures of real life by leaving nasty comments on the internet. There's nothing we can really do about it but hope their situation gets better or that they grow up and learn to deal with it like a normal person.
honestly I bet russ is nice IRL, but the veil of anonymity does tend to bring out the worst in people, and the fact that there are no replies forthcoming shows that russ is too ashamed of how they're venting to interact with us; which is a real shame, as I'm sure there are many people they could talk to here to let the stress out in a more productive manner.
