'The house reeked of booze and pot, the smells overwhelming ever second I'm stuck in this shit hole.' Vikki had been writing in his journal all morning after the mishaps from the previous night with his uncles and aunt. The young
As Vikki thought about the beatings he had taken from Sophia and her husband Richard the previous night one of the nieces, Trisha tugged gently on the teenager's shirt desperate to get his attention. "What's up Trish?" Vikki asked with a questionable look on his face as he picked the small child up and rested her on his hip, making sure not to drop her. "I'm hungry.." The small girl stated as she leaned on Vikki's shoulder, the teenager reaching to open the fridge door. "Well, it looks like we're going to have to run to the store, will you go get your brother?" He said in a quiet voice as to not alarm the adults in the house. Trisha nodded and ran off as soon as Vikki set her down. Vikki began to explain that he was taking Hayden and Trisha out for a while before he felt a fist come in contact with his left cheek as he fell back to the floor. He stopped his eyes from tearing up as he got up and took the two children to the car, getting them buckled in as he attempted to calm down. Vikki sat in the driver's seat of his minivan and took deep breaths, soon turning on some music and starting to drive. He decided he needs to see his friend before he went anywhere else and soon started laughing and smiling from the kids trying to sing along to the songs from the back seat.
