Chapter 1
Beep beep, beep beep, my alarm clock goes off this morning at 7:15 am. I roll out of bed and flip on my slippers. They protect my feet on the cold hardwood floor, I wonder who invented such a warm object that is placed on one of the dirtiest parts of me. Making my way to kitchen, I turn on the light in order to see. I take in a deep breath while looking out the window over my sink. The sun isn’t quite up yet but the horizon is bright which means it’s nearly there. This morning I had toast and peanut butter, simple but rather delightful. After breakfast I go upstairs to brush my teeth and get dressed out of my PJs. To keep the planet healthy, I hop on the bus and sit besides an old white man wearing a brown worn out sweater and jeans. He initiates a conversation with me, What is a young man such as yourself doing on this particular morning, he asks me. What an interesting question I think to myself. I’m off to work sir, need to make a living you know, I respond. To work? I for one am going to visit my family before those two suns burn the earth to a crisp. I slowly lean my head towards the window and see two suns coming up on the horizon and almost all burnable objects are on fire.
