A romantic drama centred on a girl named Maeda Ayame, who has endured a series of difficult experiences throughout her life, both at school and within her family. These traumatic events have led her to withdraw completely from the outside world.
This continues into her sixth-form years, when one day she decides to take her own life by throwing herself in front of a car. However, she is saved by a boy named Nakagawa Yuto, who goes on to become her neighbour, her first friend, her classmate and even her first love. Thus begins a period of getting to know one another and opening up to the world for the young girl, something she had hoped for but never thought could happen.
The boy, although he seems cheerful and carefree at first (and a bit silly in the girl’s eyes), actually has a secret.
The two decide to open up to one another, trying to have as much fun as possible and share as many experiences as they can together. Alongside all this are the ghosts of the past, such as the return of an old acquaintance of the protagonist, who has led her to mistrust others, and the reasons behind her family’s downfall.
