Take me down, into the dark,
Light a lamp with just a spark.
Take my freedom, take my flight,
Leave me in an endless night.
One day you'll return to the surface above,
But for now my cries are what you love.
I sing for freedom, sing for peace,
While you hope my voice will never cease.
If it does, great danger will come,
You'll leave me here, and as you run,
My body will lay, alone and forgotten,
As the air around me begins to turn rotten.
My frail lungs give out easily,
I only hope for when we'll live peacefully.
My precious breath, my life I give,
So that another day, you may live.
