In this world, there are two types of being. One is a human and the other one is a dragon. The Dragon Clans were the most powerful being in this world. Because of their immense power, they decided to take some lands to be their own territory and protect it from the threat of other clans. That’s why humans were living together with them and for the humans, they are the most superior beings.

Dragons built their own empires where their territory was located. 

The Red Dragon Kingdom is located to the east, White Dragon Kingdom to the north, Yellow Dragon Kingdom south and Black Dragon Kingdom to the west. 

On the snowy mountain of the North, there’s a small village far away from the White Dragon kingdom. Sophia, the little girl, was one of the villagers living there. Sophia was a kind and happy little girl until her parents passed away two years ago. A sudden disease came to their small village and it took dozens of lives. It took a year and a half when they found the cure. But it’s too late for her parents. The little girl's life turned upside down after what happened to her parents. No one wants to take care of the little girl and the village people thought that if they adopt her she would bring a nuisance to them. That’s why at the age of 7, Sophia tried her best to survive alone.

On her way to the forest to get some fruits to eat, Sophia heard the voices from not afar. She hid herself in the bushes and listened to their conversation. She took a peak and she saw three grown men talking.

“What should we do to him?” the tall man said 

“They said we can do whatever we want to him.” the chubby man replied.

“Then .. let’s send him off to some auction house! I’m sure a dragon like him will bring us some fortunes!” the petite man said.

“Or send him to the black market? I heard that if we sell a dragon as a slave they will give us a lot of money!” the chubby man replied. 

“Then that’s it! If option 1 won’t work, we’ll proceed to option 2.” the petite man replied too.

“Hehehe .. I’m excited to be rich!” the tall man said.

They are all saying horrible things. But the little girl didn’t understand what the men's talking about. All she knew was that those men were bad and the boy was in danger. While looking at them, Sophia caught the attention of the kid next to them lying on the ground. 

He has a white hair and porcelain skin. His clothes were nice even though it’s full of dirt. She even compares her clothes to his. But, there’s an odd thing about him that made her wonder. 

He has scales in his face. 

At the young age of Sophia, she didn’t know the existence of the dragons. One of the traits of the dragons was they can change their form into human to blend in them. But when a dragon is young, they can't keep their scales in their face and body. They need to learn how to use their power to make themselves into full human form.

The boy was tied up in his hands and feet and unconscious too. Sophia thought that if she rescued the boy, she would get into trouble too.  But because of her pure heart, she didn't hesitate and she decided to help the kid when the sun goes down. 

After a few hours, a night came to the small village. It’s hard to see the way in the forest because Sophia doesn’t have a torch to light up her way. Also, when a heavy snow starts the poor little girl is trying to fight frostbite on her hands and feet and even catching a breath is challenging to her. The girl finally found the small cabin where the men hid the boy. She silently went up in the window and luckily the window was slightly open. She saw the boy lying down on the ground while his hands and feet were tied up. Even his mouth was covered with a cloth. Sophia tried to wake up the boy but he didn't respond. So the girl has no choice but to slap the boy.

*Slap!

The slap was so strong that it made the boy wake up. He was startled and stood up fast. He saw Sophia near him. He glared at her thinking that she was one of those men.

“Shh.” Sophia said

She went on the feet of the boy to untie the rope. The boy was startled by how cold the hands of the girl were. But he still trusts her to untie both his hands and foot. 

“How did you get here?” the boy asked

Sophia pointed to the window which she entered earlier. 

“The snow is falling heavily. It’s risky to go outside now.” he said

Sophia got sad when the boy said that. Because if they are found out by the men outside tomorrow morning, she knows that it’s her end. Unlike her, the boy will get spared because he looks more like an important person. In order to not waste her life by saving the boy, she forced the boy to get up and go to the window.

Sophia tried to pull the hand of the boy to go to the window. The boy didn’t budge at it until the door opened up. 

The petite man was startled when he saw the two children.

“Why you– there’s a rat!!” the petite man shouted.

The children startled and Sophia pushed the boy near the window. The man grabbed Sophia’s hair that made her fall into the ground.  The boy saw that and got worried. Sophia shakes her head to let the boy know that it is fine to leave her. 

“What now little boy? Are you gonna leave her?”  said the petite man in sarcastic tone

The boy cried. 

He turned his back and fled through the window. The man threw Sophia at the corner of the cabin and called the others to catch the boy. After that, the petite man came back to Sophia and he beat up the little girl. Even though the girl was crying and felt the pain of getting beat up, she’s happy too because she knows that this is the end of her miserable life and she’s glad that the boy escaped. She thinks that the boy will be alright and will be saved by his family.

While Sophia was on the ground and couldn't move her body, the petite man took a piece of wood and he beat her up until it struck her head. Sophia bled and lost her consciousness. The man put down the wood and said…

“Ha! That’s what you get for sticking your nose on someone’s business, you brat!” 

The man left after saying that.
