Alex Pov.
Darkness. It follows me like a cape always nearby never gone but sometimes forgotten. You try to live a happy and peaceful life until you notice its back but wasn't ever gone. It's always there. Just watching.
"Alastair!" I scream with tears rolling down my cheeks, I look at the picture of the two of us. Me, with my skinny frame and wide smile while he was far taller and more muscular than me, his blue eyes the opposite of my red ones. "Please, not him..." I whisper to the room. Why is everyone I love torn from me? if not instantly then done a bit after or if they want me to grow attached, then its a year. That what they just did with Alastair. I was with him for two years today, I'm surprised I still love. I wipe away my tears as I feel numb, I stand up and walk out the old apartment we shared. So many memories, why did I grow attached? I knew they would take his life just like every other person I ever cared about. My eyes glow red like blood. I won't go through this again, never again.
I punch the wall near me and the wall crumbles at the force. A laugh echoes down the empty hallway, a man walks out of the shadows. "Time to come home, little one" I glare at the man with my glowing red eyes "never!" I shout at him and he smirks sadistically. "Don't make me drag you back. The last time I did you lost your fangs for a week, this time I will take your fangs and starve you for a month," I shiver at the thought. I need blood to survive he can't starve me without taking my fangs because if he didn't I would feed on anything I found, even a werewolf. I growl at him and shadows start squirming under me. I watch as they turn into huge hounds and they charge at the man. "Calling on your hounds? How pathetic!" he takes a sword from his belt and it slashes through each of my shadows causing me to scream in pain. My eyes glow completely red and my powers flicker around me. Fire surrounds the man and he glares at me as he starts laughing. "You think a pathetic flame circle will stop me from taking you home?" he reaches his hand out smirking but that leaves his face quickly when the fire burns his hand and starts to burn blue and red. "Oh, I do think it will keep you there. Hellfire is impossible to cross for a demon," I watch him as his eyes change to green. I make the flames flash across his face and body repeatedly until he was completely covered in his own blood. My shadows change into my hell hounds and they look at the man with glowing red eyes. "These are my real hell hounds. They're far stronger than the replicas I made earlier," the hell hounds bark loudly as they see their target. Their barks and howls could scare anyone that hears them even my brothers. Their hell hounds are less domestic than mine and won't listen to them so they were defenceless against my hounds when we were young, that's why I'm considered the strongest of the new princes. The sons of the past princes of hell. The hounds run at the man and start attacking him while he screams and asks for mercy. "No mercy will be given to you, after what you've done you deserve to stay in hell. No longer able to come back to earth," all the hounds' eyes glow brighter and my hair changes to its natural colour. Blood red. I watch as he sinks into the ground with him screaming in pain, never to walk this earth again. I smirk with my fire like hair flaring around with the gust of wind that is sent up from hell. "You can't hide from us forever, brother," I hear my youngest brother say through the wind. My hounds growl at the voice as I call them back to my shadow. I grab the pitch-black cloak with the red silk embroidery of a dragon that is hanging on the door, the long black cloak of an assassin... and a prince. I put the hood of the cloak over my head. I guess its time to join the assassins of the east or the knights of the west, I have the power to join their high orders and I need a place to call home. Now that my home is empty and filled with too many memories of my love.
I love modern earth, it no longer has dirt roads and horse-drawn carriages. Now they have cars and proper roads, they have all this but when war breaks out they call on their nations protectors, the west has their knights, the east has their assassins, the north has their warriors and the south have their organisation of wizards and descendants of gods but any order can have magic welders and descendants of gods. I walk out of the semi-large house that I had called my home with my boyfriend, I leave the house and I make it go up in red and orange flames. I continue walking until I get to the small café that sits on a corner of a street in the capital of Italy, Rome. I walk into the small café and I'm greeted by many of the employees, I sit in my normal seat at the back of the café in a dark corner. I take my cloak off and I see some people staring at me in wonder, I touch a strand of my hair and I realise my hair is stuck in its natural hellfire colour. A young new waitress walks up to my table with a menu in hand and stares into my red eyes, she shivers with fear and I smile at her slightly. "I'll have a bicerin with extra chocolate and your famous chocolate and orange Panna cotta," she opens her mouth slightly but then closes it again. She writes down what I order quickly and nods her head at me in acknowledgement. I sat at the table quietly waiting for my order as I trace my fingers over the silk embroidery on my cloak. My symbol of power, I wonder if any of these humans are part of one of the protector groups. The young waitress that took my order walks over to with the two things I ordered balanced on a tray with a dish for another table. Her hand shaking as she carries it up the stairs. Bang... the metal tray hits the hardwood floors. I stand next to the waitress holding the dish that's not mine on my right palm, my Panna cotta on my right forearm and my bicerin in my left hand. My cloak floats down into my seat, the waitress stares at me in utter shock.
I smile kindly at her as other patrons gasp at my appearance, "Is that prince Alex Nomak?" a vampire couple asks. I look over to them with my blood red eyes and they shiver in fear. I sigh as they bow their heads in a show of respect, "be very careful saying that name. Warriors from the north are looking around recently," the waitress says to the couple and I look at her while holding the dishes and my drink. I look at the girl and I sniff the air slightly. "You scared, little omega?" I ask and she looks at me in utter shock. I chuckle softly, "I'm a prince of hell, of course, I can tell what your rank and species is so don't seem surprised... now I'd rather like to sit back at my table and enjoy my small meal," I say before I put the dish that's not mine on a table with one person in black clothing and seems slightly frightened. "No need to fear me," I say and I whisper the next part "Warrior" he shakes visibly before he starts eating his Carbonaro pasta dish. I slide my Panna cotta into the palm of my right hand as I sit at my table and place it down on the table along with my bicerin. I put my cloak back on with my hood up and I eat my Panna cotta in complete silence. I start drinking my bicerin when warriors storm into the café, I sigh loudly as I stand up and I glare at the twelve warriors that now surround my table, one of the warriors is the man I gave the dish to. I smirk at them before I take my hood down and they gasp. "Are you all really willing to attack or imprison me? I can kill you all quicker then you can blink"
