A Princely Science

A Basic Guide To Magic

A Basic Guide To Magic

Mar 17, 2020

The study of magic is known as medeisology. Not many have looked into it scientifically, due to it being seen as a“holy gift” from the gods.

Most magic comes in the form of abilities, but some, like curses, blessings, and soulbonds, use human or animal life force to create medeisological effects. These are almost completely out of practice except for in very remote areas where old religious ideals are held.

A soulbond is the practice of merging two souls together so that when one dies, the other goes with it. It was used as a marriage ceremony in some places before it was deemed stupid and was generally forgotten about. Curses can be a buffer on someone’s ability, dulling someone’s senses, or a negative ailment. Blessings are the opposite. They can improve your speed when using your ability, heighten your senses, and cure ailments or make you physically stronger.

The average time to change something with your ability is roughly one day if you don’t use it often and don’t know how to properly harness it. Most people who use their magic for their career or their hobby can change something in around five hours. Nobody on record has been able to change something in under three hours before.

Red Eyes - States (Solid, Liquid, Gas) - You can change something from solid to liquid, liquid to solid, liquid to gas, and gas to liquid. You can not transfer solid to gas or gas to solid

Orange Eyes - Emotional State - You can not change somebody’s mood entirely, you can only make it better or worse. (I.E. making someone more or less sad, or more or less excited)

Yellow Eyes - Volume - You can raise or lower something by 1dB

Green Eyes - Speed of Growth - You can double or half the speed of a plant’s growth

Blue Eyes - Adrenaline - You can give or take away a person’s adrenaline rush

Purple Eyes - Gravity/Weight - You can double or half the force of gravity on a certain object

Black/Grey/White Eyes - No Magic
