Pain. Guilt. Helplessness. Sadness. Rage

It all came together in one feeling, one long suppressed.

Hatred.

Hovering in the sky above a crater stood a young man with two lightning wings that extended from his back. His entire body overflowed with lightning as his eyes and hair shone in a bluish-white color. Two lightning bolts reached the ground as they created two new craters and made the young man's lightning more powerful. He looked down on everyone and everything as a god.

On the ground, hundreds of persons could be seen as they let the energy flow through them activating their abilities ready to defend themselves. On the front, 5 people looked with cold gazes at the young man. As one of them was about to speak the young man made them all fall to their knees with a wave of his hand.

"I shall deliver you judgment," He said as his will pressed the world

It all began during the Cold War. As the tension between the US and the URSS reached its peak, human experimentation took place as both of them searched for ways to overpower the other. Child experimentation was carried out. That's when the first espers were born. They were called "calamity children''.

They were children born with big power. All of them had different abilities that could put a nation in danger if not handled correctly. The experiments had great success, however as the years passed and the children grew it became harder to control them. Conflicts were created between higher-ups of both nations as some of them saw too much danger in using calamity children as weapons while others saw the best opportunity to get rid of their enemy nation.

And so, the conflict grew until the first one fell. With the URSS weakened by the intern conflicts, the Fall of the Berlin Wall became its demise and the end of the Cold War.

With the end of the Cold War, the URSS's calamity children became public as some US higher-ups also slipped information about their creation in the US. URSS and US higher-ups responsible for the calamity children underwent trial held by the ONU.

However, still, no one knew what to do about the Calamity Children as they were way too dangerous. Yet, since they were considered humans and were at the center of public debate, they were let free under the strict supervision of the ONU as their identities were kept a secret.

As years passed the calamity children had children themselves. These children were initially born without powers, yet as they reached a certain age they would awaken their abilities. Some new abilities appeared. Some children never awakened theirs. More espers appeared and they needed to be regulated.

Espers were recognized as citizens of each nation and received regulations concerning their abilities. Some cities filled only with espers appeared as well as cities where they were prohibited. Some generations passed and now espers represented a big part of the total human population, more precisely 25%, this was due to the barrier of the ability awakening.

However, human nature has always been barbaric and so, the Third and Fourth World Wars broke out. And since the espers showed so much destructive potential, they became an important asset to the military force of each nation. So, these last two wars were fought with the help of espers. The combat fields were crueler, bloodier, and mightier than ever before. Each battle shook the world as mighty abilities clashed together.

When the battles ended, the world was reformed. As a result, three new nations were born as they were the only ones in existence. These were: Eastasia, Eurasia, and Oceania. Due to the intensity of battles the world itself was also reformed, old countries were submerged under water as new lands emerged from the oceans.

For such catastrophes, that almost led humankind to its extinction, to never repeat, the three countries signed a peace and cooperation treaty as they also created a new organization that would act as a supervisor of the three of them, an organization made of espers and non-espers that preserved the well-being of humankind, one that would lead the humankind to a brighter future through cooperation. The Humankind Supervising Authority was created, also called the HSA. And so, a new era of neverending peace and cooperation began for humankind.
