Hikaru POV

The bell rang, signalling that my last class was over. I grabbed my stuff and headed out into the hallway. I was almost out of the door when I hear some of my bullies laughing and picking on some of the other 'nerds'. Instead of going outside the door, I turned right and headed towards the back exit door of the school. I made it there, but before heading outside, I heard a very angry voice of one of the jocks.

"Why the fuck would you do that?! You're just ruining your own damn reputation. If you are gonna keep being an idiot, than count yourself single." They said. I cringed and peeked outside. There, I saw the back of some girl and and none other than Akira Yagami. He was the captain of the basketball team, and one of the most popular boys in the school, but not because of his sports (maybe a little) but because of his looks.

"I...I'm sorry.." the girl said. I realized the girl because of her voice. It was Kinzuri Nagisa, the most popular girl in school. She was the leader of the Scarlets, a popular group of girls that could get anything they wanted. Not only that, but she was the leader of the volleyball team, and the biggest bully in the school.

They had gotten together a few years ago and they both became extra popular, with Akira's friends becoming Kinzuri's, and Kinzuri's friends becoming Akira's.

Suddenly, Akira lifted his hand up and slapped Kinzuri. It had such force that her head turned to the side to where I had full view of her face. Her eyes were puffy and red and tear streaks ran down her face. her cheek was reddening where he had slapped her. Her blue hair was messy under her black beanie. I must've gotten too close to the door, because she noticed me and her eyes went wide.

She turned back around to face her boyfriend. She hugged him and he shoved her away. He turned around and left her there. When he was out of view she came towards the door. I leaned back and lost balance, but caught myself and turned to run. She opened the door and grabbed my galaxy jacket.

"You fucking spying on me, nerd?" She asked me. She had already wiped her eyes and covered the reddining with a patch that came from nowhere, but her eyes were still a little red.

"n-no!" I squeaked out. She squinted her eyes and scowled. Working up the courage, I sighed.Trying to make me look mad, I squint at her. "Why? Why the frick do you let him do that to you?" She let me go and turned around.

"The real questions is why you say 'frick' instead of 'fuck'." I blushed in embarrassment and pointed accusingly at her. She rolled her eyes and looked back at me with a scowl.

"don't change the subject!" She just kept scowling. That's when I noticed something. While her face said angry and annoyed, her eyes cried shame and sadness. It was all an act. Without giving it any thought, I walked up to her and wrapped my arms around her.
