Once upon a time there was a hermit who lived with his wife and two daughters. The hermit never wanted to go outside of the house. One day, his wife asked him to go buy food. However, the hermit was not willing to step outside. “Why can’t you leave the house?” Asked his wife. But the hermit just ignored her, she’d never understand him. Then one day, the hermit’s wife decided she had enough and left, taking their two daughters with him. “Oh, why has this happened to me?” Cried the hermit, “Why couldn’t my wife just understand me?”

For a few weeks the hermit was fine. He had food and water. But then, the food started diminishing and the water was now from the tap. Who was going to buy more food and water? No one, as the hermit was now all alone. “Fine! I’ll go outside!” Decided the hermit. When he stepped outside, the sky was too bright, everything seemed to burst with color. The hermit couldn’t take it and went back inside.

Scared of the outside world, how was the hermit to survive? With no job and no money, how was he to eat? He didn’t. He stayed inside, stuck in his old ways. In the end, the hermit died, all alone, with no one by his side. So, who killed the hermit? The wife, for leaving him? Himself, for never facing his fears? Or a circumstance that was never faced to begin with?
