"Sir, adaptation #628 just flatlined, but doctors are receiving a heart beat. We think she could be pregnant." Said the nurse to the boss. "What do you want us to do with the baby?"

The boss put down his pen on his expensive oak desk and brought his hand up to his face. This was an interesting predicament. The baby could possess the serum and perhaps be the subject he has been looking for. Or, the baby could show immunity to the serum, hence becoming useless to his cause. 

"Deliver the baby, then test for evidence of the serum. If no serum is there, dispose of it."

The nurse seemed a little sick to ponder disposing of  such an innocent life, but just nodded and walked away back to her station. 

The boss propped up his head with his hands, his elbows on his desk, and thought. He hoped that the baby had the serum. 

This had never happened before.
