That's it. I finally open my eyes. Nothing seems to have changed, apart from some marginal novelties. I take a deep breath. I move my fingers, my hands, my arms. A few steps. A hill located to my right, I run at its top. I observe the panorama that opens up to me: I can even see the end of the island. My friends and my family are gone. I will have to manage all alone. One thing is certain, I'm back home.

It has been almost five years I had not stepped this land. I had yet no reason to leave. But I did it. For my sake, for my health. I had to disconnect myself from these things. I left without telling anyone, just like that. Sadly, this was much easier than I imagined.

And now I'm back here in this city, in these streets I travelled so many times. Of course, everything seems smaller than in my memories. I even feel a little cramped. Never mind, the immensity of the plains that surround me revives in me that feeling of freedom, asleep for far too long.

I have to start over everything, once again, from the beginning. It will be more difficult – This time, I'm alone. In the past, my brother was accompanying me. He was the one who guided my first steps. We used to do absolutely everything together. Despite the danger of these lands, our mother let us come here. It was the only thing that we had in common.

Until the day I lost him. As I was growing up, I emancipated myself more and more from him. And then, one morning, I never saw him again. He was forever stuck in the other world. I tried several times to save him, to pull him out from the claws of these demons. It was in vain. He was no longer the same. He had become someone else. They had changed him. They had mind-numbed him.

I can only rely on myself now, but I am even more determined than ever. I will continue until the end. Whatever time it takes. I probably won’t come as often as previously. Each world has its own dangers. But in this one, I know them all, without exception. Younger, I was tempted by these traps, but I grew up, I’m more experienced and I am able to control any situation.

I admire the view one last moment. This place is magnificent. There are so many areas to explore, people to meet and stories to live. There it is, the danger of this world. It is much too wonderful. So much that I wonder if it is real.

It is almost time, I have to prepare myself. First of all, I need something to eat, I need forces. I walk down in the city, I have to find this man. He will give me what I need. Do not be frightened by him. He may seem disturbing sometimes, it's true. It's probably because of his attire. Be lenient, it's his only coat. His charity is equalled only by his weakness. He has at the same time nothing and so much to give. I ask him his blessing. A few incantations and I feel already a force awaken in my body. Guided by its magic, I'm running, sword in hand, to the gates of the city. I cross the wooden bridge.

Through the trees, I see the first silhouettes of these infamous creatures. I'm not afraid. They are going to taste my blade. I attack one of them, the others seem concerned. This cow defended herself, she bit me. Her venomous fangs stun me a few seconds, but I compose myself rather quickly. A window opens to me, I stretch my arm back and with all my strength, I send my sword into her side. I feel the flesh opening, I hear the bones breaking, I see the blood gushing out. The beast rant and collapses to the ground: I killed her.

I feel even more powerful now. I pick up the loot she wore on her: a few coins and a potion, probably stolen from a resident who would have ventured beyond the protective borders of the city. Before continuing, I look once more at the corpse of the beast. Her wings too small and her lavender skin presume of her youth. I killed her.
