I sat on the stool, in the bathroom, my best friend Cynthia sitting beside me. She was telling me about her friend, Zoey, who was genderfluid, identifying as girl and boy. And about Zach, who went by girl pronouns even though his gender assigned at birth was a boy. Then, I though bout myself. Who was I? I was surely not a girl. I had no way to explain it, but deep down in my bones, I felt like a girl and a boy. Genderfluid. Like Zoey, explained Cynthia. I sighed.
