It was a bright new day in the great city of Blaven, the home of the Gerry News Ranger Association. Rangers of all races, sizes, and ages wandered around as the sun shone bright on Gerry News Park, where three particular Rangers stood, and a floating Familiar stood under the shade of the tree.

An afro-haired male Ranger stood between a tall brunette Ranger and a chibi purple-haired Familiar. All three blinked at the slender female, goth Dog-Hybrid Ranger in front of them, staring at her with uncertainty and confusion.

"Could you repeat that for us, Juliet?" The Familiar said with her high-pitched voice, her ghastly purple aura wrapped around her.

“Nario!" The Ranger known as Juliet exclaimed, her hands clenched into fists as her black eyes stared straight at the afro-haired Ranger, "I want him to fight me!"

The afro-haired Ranger known as Nario took a step forward, planting his red and black sneakers to the ground, and causing a medium-sized gust that spread around him.

The breeze brushed past both Luke and Mi-Mi, who were used to Nario showing off like this.

"I'm flattered..." Nario grinned a little and looked up at Juliet as he cracked his fists, "I could do with a friendly spar."

“Define Friendly..." Luke muttered.

Juliet planted her foot before herself, the laces of her black boots shuffling a bit on the ground as Juliet kicked them off to the side. Her puppy-like ears flopped up and down as she crouched down, pressing her bare feet into the soil. 

"You two are not seriously going to fight here, right?" Luke stood behind Nario, his eyes darting from Juliet to Nario, "You know Finn doesn't like it when we cause a mess around here."

Nario smirked before lunging at Juliet, throwing his fist back and igniting it in a soft, dark haze that enveloped his entire hand.

Juliet leapt forward and quickly jumped to the side, Nario's fist almost coming in contact with the loose end of her braided hair. Juliet continued to move left, but Nario wasn't done with her as he landed on his hands, twisted his wrists to turn and face Juliet. 

Juliet caught a glimpse of this and raised her arm to defend, "Huh—”

"MMMH!" Nario hummed loudly as his shoes were engulfed in a dark haze and collided with Juliet's arm, causing a flash of purple light and a clashing sound like thunder to erupt.

Luke and Mi-Mi shielded themselves from the light, bits of grass flying past them as their eyes were squeezed shut.

"Nooo, Nario killed Juliet!” Mi-Mi exclaimed. 

Once the light dwindled, Nario's smirk widened as the purple haze flickered beneath his sneakers. 

"Oh, she's fine?" Mi-Mi blinked at the sight. 

"Again, I don't think it is safe to do this at the park," Luke nervously laughed, repeating this, but once again, it fell on deaf ears.

Nario used Juliet's arm to jump backwards, engulfing his fists in a purple haze this time, the air around them warping in a weird space. Juliet looked up in awe at Nario, who did a perfect backflip and landed in front of her once more. Nario placed his hands at his side and smirked, waiting for Juliet to make a move. 

Getting the gist, Juliet lunged at Nario and shrouded her with a fury of orange flame barrages. Nario dodged a few effortlessly, as well as catching Juliet's fists in midair.

As a few seconds passed, Juliet changed pace and motion, jumping slowly on her toes as her flames began to dwindle into a pink shade, and a smoky hue began to come off of Nario's hands as he staggered and started getting pushed back every so often. 

"W-What is this??" Nario grinned in amazement as he saw his hands getting... pudgy.  

Juliet smiled and took this chance to change pace once more, and increase her punches; the flames got hotter and faster, shifting from pink to orange once more, making them appear swifter and larger in size as Nario started to stumble back.  

Luke watched in amazement as Mi-Mi's smile remained printed on her furry face, "That's Juliet...?" 

"She must've gone through a lot of training to be able to push Nario back like this!" Mi-Mi exclaimed.  

Nario buckled beneath the weight of Juliet's concentrated punches, and Juliet just continued, gritting her teeth as she tried to look past the great flames.  

Juliet shook her head, "I won't lose!" Nario suddenly stood his ground, his foot planted firmly to the ground as he pushed back and threw his arms open, dispersing the flames that held him down for a bit.  

He looked down at his pudgy, bruised hands, which were covered with a pink-slimey residue, "Ergh, what is all this?" 

"Think fast!" Juliet was right above Nario now, ready to attack once more. Nario let out a breath and jumped out of the way before Juliet's kick could land on him. 

The Dragon Twilight slid back between Luke and Mi-Mi; he shook his hands a bit, and the pink-slime was soon off his hands. He tested his hands, clenching and unclenching them and realised it was never there in the first place, but just the impact of it. 

"You struggling there, Nario?" Mi-Mi looked down at the Afro Ranger.  

"Just a minor setback. It’s fine now, though..." Nario stood up from his knees and unzipped his tactical sports jersey. There was a slight sting, but soon his pudgy hands had returned to normal. The burn marks and bruises remained. "I'm impressed, Juliet, you've got some new flames now, instead of being a one-trick pony like Louise." 

Juliet's eyes sparkled at the comment, and she felt more pumped up to continue. However, Nario covered his mouth as he began to yawn.
