“You are my ray of sunshine in a black and white world”
1:48 AM
And with every raindrop crashing into the window, they sorrowfully fall one by one. With every sorrowful drop that doesn’t cling to the windowsill; I can hear your voice, echoing in the halls, a calm, soft voice, I held you close in my arms.
The silence of the sea breeze crashing along the water lines, it calms my every nerve. You love the rain, that’s why you’d shuffle out of bed every day to count the raindrops that cling to our windowsill. You start counting the drops one, by one, by one. You also love to write; Poetry of all writing styles. About how the world has changed you, and I’m here writing about how you’ve changed me.
The book's leather quivered at the ink, shriveling up the paper. I blew on it very gently to speed up the drying process, sometimes I wonder why I'm writing, just to write, or because some other godly power is inspiring me.
7:30 AM
On the dot every day, you wake up before me brewing us coffee and the smell fills the house overwhelming the smell of the sea.
"Morning" the glass clinks as you bring them over, your fingers struggling to hold them
"Sleep well?" you look restless
"No, had a nightmare again it's alright though." You shrug rolling your neck to crack it.
"Ah... You sure something is not wrong, nothing could be triggering the nightmare?" dream catchers were scattered around the house, I reach for a butter knife slowly.
You take a sip of coffee before you answer me," No, I'm sure it's ok." you kiss me on the forehead, I know you're avoiding the question you always have but it's alright eventually they'll go away.
You head outside, assuming to get groceries or go to your job. When I close my eyes I can imagine us together, I can feel you next to me whatever that nightmare is we can get rid of it together, whether its a co-worker, monster, demon. I will get rid of it, no matter the cost, I will keep you close. When I close my eyes.
10:00 AM
I wanna see you again, I miss your golden hay hair that looks like sun rays, soft to the touch like the perfect wheat, your skin soft like sand, no imperfections at all. It's been too long since you've been back so you must be at work.
I enter your work, you work at the restaurant down the street, looking around for you and your nowhere. Where could you possibly be? I look through the grocery store, nothing. I call you.
"Hey its dsqyuebwd" you picked up
"Hun where are you?" my nerves calmed down
"Leave a message after the beep." I should've known
I hang up and head back into the restaurant and sit down.
"Well hello dear, would you like the usual?" Diana, the short chubby girl with nice tan skin, freckles, and red curly hair.
"Yes please, add extra sauce and coffee."
"Understood Micheal, it'll be right out." nice smile, but clumsy.
12:00 PM
I leave your work, leaving a $5 tip for Diana. I try and call you no answer, I go to the grocery store and grab what's needed for the day, toothpaste, beauty products, chips, late-night snacks, etc. and head home.
