Aurora woke up in the cave she was still in with all of her blankets wrapped around her. She was surprised on how she was still alive, the last thing she remembered was that some kind of wisp was floating toward her and then dark. Aurora looked around and saw that her brooch was now a sparkling crystal snowflake and then some guards were in her sight looking around, she tried to get her attention but her drowsiness from the warmth knocked her out cold.

Aurora woke up in her bed in her castle, she saw that her caretaker and the regent was with the doctor. The doctor himself was checking her temperature, Aurora already had a thermometer in her mouth and just as she woke up the thermometer froze up. “Incredible,” the doctor said rubbing his chin, “Aurora, it seems that the ice in that cave seems to have affected, your hair is now a dark blue and your pupils look like they’re shaped like diamonds, even your skin looks a little blue. It’s a miracle how you even survived when you were lost in that cave. Do you think you’re able to get out just in time for your birthday?” Aurora nodded, the doctor left with an uh-huh noise, the Regent went closer to her, “Aurora, I've already told you, your ice powers don't even exist, you thought you had them when we were fixing a vent.” she said,

“Harriett, I know, I just wished that I could go out there! My tutor said that anyone is capable of magic and I'm sure I can too. And now I feel this cool rush of energy inside since I almost died in that cave until someone saved my life.” Aurora crowed,

“You didn’t die, you were lucky. Lucky that the guards found you in time before you probably froze to death.” Harriett kept on nagging,

“Yeah, freeze to death, good one, Harriett.” Aurora barked at her,

“Ugh, Aurora, did you know why your mom named you that?”

“Of course, because I have ice powers!”

“No, you don’t! And you almost died because of your silly imagination.” Harriett scolded her, she dropped her angry tone for the rest of the sentence, “You were named ‘Aurora’ because you were born under the northern lights; in the summer. Your birthday is today already and you’ve already got two more years until I have to step down and for you to rule. so can you just please, act like a proper girl for today and you can go back to fooling around.”

Harriett left Aurora’s room, Aurora got out of her bed and looked in the mirror. Her hair was indeed now blue and seemed to shine like ice and her eyes seemed bluer than before and her skin was actually a little blue, the doctor was actually speaking the truth. She was surprised from this, she sometimes just liked to pretend she had ice powers but she didn’t know it would actually be true but she was kind of happy because it was true. Aurora felt really cold and saw there was no cloud in sight outside, she opened the doors for the sun to get in but somehow, even under the sun, she still felt cool. Aurora saw herself that she was in her nightgown now, she went to her closet to look through her multiple outfits and a thousand and still-counting dresses. She went for a sleeveless striped vintage dress that used to be her mother’s and some flats with some leg warmer socks, Aurora put on the dress and she started to look for her brooch. Aurora went through her drawers and jewelry boxes and started to stress out a little, that brooch was her mother’s. As she looked around she felt something colder than her form around her neck, it was the same snowflake from when she was in the cave, it was the same pattern snowflake on the brooch so it must have been the same one. Aurora then left her room and saw that her friends were already here, she started to get the door until she was stopped by Harriett, “Aurora, remember.” she said rubbing her hands, Aurora went to wash her hands. She turned on the faucet and she started to wash her hands, as she rubbed her hands and ice seemed to start to form around her hands and the soap bubbles started solidifying and falling down in the sink. Surprised, Aurora turned on the furnace to melt her hands, it worked and she blew on them to warm it up but then she saw the red glow on the furnace turned blue and it started to work like the kitchen’s giant fridge. Not having enough time, Aurora ran back to the door with her dry hands now and opened it for her friends, “Hey guys, welcome to my birthday party. Uh… what’s with the looks?” Aurora said, she looked back and saw that all the vents in the castle made tons of snow everywhere and it seemed to show no signs of melting even from the heat coming from the front door. “Geez Aurora, how cold is this place?! How are you not cold?!” one of Aurora’s friends, Addie said who was shivering along with the others to Aurora who didn’t even seem to chatter her teeth or close in her knees, “Well I can get you some coats. Jeeves! fetch us some winter coats!”

Aurora brought her friends over to the dining hall, the cake was brought already sliced and the candles were lit as they were brought in. No one could sing Happy Birthday on account of people couldn’t even get to “Happy” before chattering or shivering in frigid pain. Aurora just blew out the candles on the three tier cake and their flames turned into ice, surprised but try not to show it, she started serving the cake. Aurora sunk her fork in the slice but the fork couldn’t get in, only a hard tink sound was made and similar other sounds were made when all the others tried to dig in. Before anyone could complain, Aurora just grabbed the slice in her hands and started to bite a chunk off of it and the others followed in on her idea. As the presents were opened, all of them were in blocks of ice, even a hot plate and a lava lamp. The party was cut short by Aurora due to the vents started blowing in more snow that the other kids were probably gonna get hypothermia before the castle reached sub-zero. Aurora was now all alone in the castle as all the staff and guards and everyone else evacuated the castle for being deemed “too cold” leaving Aurora herself confused as she felt totally fine. Deciding that maybe if she left the castle would warm up, Aurora started to get a bag of food and changes of clothes and styled her hair from a straight dull style to a wavy and curled up hairstyle. She went through the back and went to the stables, she then found that all of the horses were taken and she now found there was no way to leave in time. She then got an idea, she started to go to her carriage and looked at the harnesses, she brought her hands close to her mouth and blew at the harnesses. Shortly, two icy stallions with two sets of yellow eyes were ready on her command. Aurora got in the carriage and the ice horses started to gallop out of the castle and onto the back bridge into a forest to look for something or the someone that saved her life. 

As Aurora and her carriage went inside a forest, she was looking to see what she could add on to her hair, she then got an idea and she got out a green headband, it looked like the Aurora Borealis in her icy hair. The carriage slowed down much to Aurora’s confusion, she went out and looked to see why the icy horses stopped, “What’s wrong, guys?” she said to them, she then saw a giant rock was blocking their way to go further and since that Aurora obviously couldn’t push it out of the way, she tried to turn the horses around. She tried to push the horses the other way but their icy bodies were too slippery and she fell down, Aurora got up and decided that she should find some help. Aurora went down into the forest to look and find someone strong enough to push the rock out of the way. As she went deeper she heard some footsteps that weren’t by her, she stopped and looked around, she then saw a pretty young looking boy no who looked older than herself walking around on all fours and wearing a green orchid in his hair and had a poncho that seemed to look like it was made of giant petals along with some brown clothes under it. “Um, hello?” Aurora said, the boy got up and looked at her, he didn’t look that strong so much actually pushing a boulder, “Uh, hi, can I ask you for a favor? There’s this giant rock in the way and I’m trying to see if there’s anyone able to push it, do you think you can?”

“….Sure, I can do it.” the boy said delayed, it seemed that he never had any human interaction in his life,

“Thanks, I’ll bring you to where it is.”

Aurora brought the man over to where her carriage and the rock was, “Here it is, do you think you can find a way to move it?” Aurora said, the boy went over to the rock and he crouched down next to it and whispered something and moved his hand on the ground. The rock then started to roll by itself and was pushed off down the slope from the road. “Oh my, thank you so much! I don’t know what to say. So, I guess I’ll be going… bye.” Aurora said, she went inside her carriage and started to continue on the road. As she continued through the path, she heard a body crash itself on the side of the carriage’s door, she screamed in fright and the horses stopped,  she looked out of her window, it was the same boy, “Oh hello, I guess you do need something.”

“Yes, can you take me with you? I need to find... someone." the man said clearly on every word,

“Well, I'm also finding someone. ...I supposed you can tag along.” Aurora replied with, she didn't really want to tell him too much,

“Thank you miss, my name is Domino. I’m in touch with the earth and nature itself.” The man said happily getting in, he demonstrated what he meant in his last sentence and he sprouted out flower and petals,

“Huh, well I actually have some tricks up my sleeve.”

“You have powers too?”

“Yeah, I’m what you’d consider an Ice Maiden… well, I consider myself an Ice Maiden.” Aurora replied with, she then fanned a hand to her face and a frigid breeze was made off them, "See, I just made snow."

As she fanned a little more, the breeze blew over to Domino's side of the carriage and then his flowers turned into frozen corpses, "My flowers!" Domino gasped, he tried to resurrect them and his flowers turned into frost and flew out the window, Aurora saw him on the verge of tears, though he looked in his teens, he wasn't that in the maturity department,

"Whoops, guess that's why seasons exist for a reason. Sorry about that." Aurora apologized yet tried to joke to lighten the mood, she didn't want the trip to go sour, "Anyway, it seems... unorthodox for a boy like you to be wandering out here. This forest is so dense that I don't see how you could make any houses here. The only way you could live around here is if you were raised by wolves!"

“I am, my family is full of wolves. I lived with them for..." Domino counted his fingers up to ten and looked up confusingly, "More than ten years."

“Wow, it must get pretty boring being part of a pack, always hunting.”

“Actually, I don't hunt. Yes, I may be in a pack of wolves but I'm usually as an Omega, you know, for Morale and Motivation.” Domino said, the horses then stopped again and Aurora, getting a little angry, saw they were high up on the mountain. Aurora also saw that the warm climate was too much for them and they melted away giving them no source of movement. As the two got out they saw that they were luckily near a village. Aurora went out the carriage first but she ended up stepping on the shivering stallions' remains and she muddied up her shoes, "Watch out for the corpses." she grumbled over to him, Domino hopped over the puddle in a very light manner, like he was floating. Domino helped pull the carriage, or he pulled the carriage and Aurora walked in front of him to help guide him... or so she said. They were nearing a gate and Domino knew where they were heading in. They were a race of tribals that were said to be descended from the hounds of the underworld, or wolves if you don’t believe in that, Domino didn’t really know the tribe’s actual name so he just called it ‘the tribe’. They are noted by their black ashy skin and their… paint around their body and their skull headwear or fanged necklaces and/or earrings. Domino was usually met with neutrality, probably because he came from wolves and maybe the tribe will be alright with someone that looked like Aurora. Aurora already went through the entrance with Domino already leaving the carriage near the gate.

Aurora went near the village and some of the villagers caught their look from their work, they seemed to be surprised and stopped what they were doing, “Hey, Aurora did you find anybody to WHA!!!” Dominic said he was then swiped off with Aurora by the villagers over to a bigger house. As the two of them were put down in front of a man busily painting on the walls in a very rapid manner. Confused, Aurora and Dominic were about to turn around but they were stopped by a man with a rather large headdress mask, “Now, before you leave, I apologize for my villagers dragging you all the way here, I specifically said to ‘escort’ you here.” he… apologized,

“Well, apology accepted. But, why are we brought in this… painter’s house?” Aurora replied

“Oh, Shadulopal is not a painter, he is warrior and shaman. You were brought here because of Shadulopal’s visions, after he was brought to life by medicine lady, he had many visions and started painting them. One of them being a lady with a snowflake on her neck and a man with a flower around his body.” the chief explained, Shadulopal himself then turned around, “Ahh, he has noticed you.”

“So, you must be the ice maiden and you must be the child of the flowers.” Shadulopal said, “I am Shadulopal or Dark as the Mountains, you can just call me Shadoo though.” he then just stared at them a little intimidatingly through his half opened eyes,

“Well, a pleasure to meet you too. I’m Aurora Borealis Crystal, Princess of… That Kingdom Next Door.” Aurora replied opening her hand out for a handshake, he didn’t shake it,

“And I’m Domino, Omega from Those Pack of Wolves Down the Trail, remember.” Domino followed, he just smiled at him, Shadulopal wasn’t impressed,

“Well, whatever your names are, I’m here to ask you a question… What business have you invading my minds!” Shadoo shouted abruptly,

“What!? Wh-What do you mean!?” Aurora exclaimed jumping back from that snap,

“You heard me! How did you invade the complex mind of a shaman’s and the steel traps of a warrior’s!?”

“If your mind is so great then, how do you expect us to actually invade it!?” Domino tried to defend himself and Aurora for this sudden lash out,

“Then you must have had help! And that means you are the perpetrators by association, there is only one thing to do from this dishonor!” Shadoo shouted, he then took out a long bone that was similar to the bone on the leg, “Not to kill me, but you!” he then lunged at them at full force.
