The cold rain felt nice on my face, soothing the burns that now covered the left side of it. I could tell that serious damage had been done and needed treatment. The burn was so strong, I was surprised I could stay standing and not curled up in a ball on the ground. Not to mention the fact that I couldn’t see out of my left eye completely. Even though I was physically burned and would have scars for the rest of my life, that was not what was bothering me. What was bothering me was the fact that I had survived. I survived when no one else had. Why was it me? Why couldn’t one of the others had lived, why me? I knew I should be happy I lived, but sometimes without certain others, life is just not worth it. I wonder now, how long until my time. Those people’s life had been cut so short. Will mine be as well? Or will I live to be old and with many tales to tell. Until then, I guess I’ll just have to keep going. You never know, maybe my time will be cut short as well.
