I was born in luxurious castle of darkness. All the pillars and walls were a black or dark color. I was the fourth child of the diablo line. Unlike the name we were anything but mean. My two older brothers and older sister took after my parents with dark hair with tanned skin. While I took after one of my ancestors who was supposedly blessed by the gods because of her appearance. Hair white as snow and eyes as blue as the ocean and skin as nice as the ripest peach. Life was mostly uneventful until my seventh summer celebration, when young lords of our neighboring kingdom took an interest in me. "My, princess how beautiful you are" a sandy haired lord says lustfully.
"Thank you kind sir" i say nervously.
Him and his friends start to gently lead me away from the party despite my protests. They corner me to a tree. The sandy blonde who I now know is Tristan the second son of Duke Aran puts his hand next to my head laying it on the tree behind me leaned in and said "Don't scream to loud, or you'll be punished"
Scared at his closeness I decide to do what I thought was best, hit him where it hurts. I kicked him right in between the legs, turned and ran off. I didn't look back but I smiled to myself when I heard him groan in pain. I hiked up my pale blue dress and kept running. Since I was four I was engrossed in training with my brothers because I showed potential to be a warrior from an early age.So to say my speed and endurance was good was an understatement. I kept running until I came upon an open valley where a beautiful young woman was kneeling admiring an unusual flower. The nature around her seemed as if it bent just to get closer to her and the aura around her was something sweet and innocent like. "Excuse me" i ask.
Her head turns and she smiles "What's a matter little one"
My feet moved on their own and I almost ran towards her. As soon as I got close she opened up her arms as I embraced her. I start to cry "They are after me, I think they, t...they want to do bad things to me" I wail.
"Shh, shh I'll protect you" she says in a soothing tone while gently petting my head.
"Mother" she calls out.
Soon an older woman, who seems to have appeared from nowhere comes towards us "Who is this young child" she questioned in a soothing voice.
"My name is Eira" I respond quietly.
"I am Demeter and this is my daughter Persephone"
"Like the goddesses?" I question.
"Yes just like them" she nods
"Well my sweet Eira why don't we take you back to your home, I'm sure your family is worried sick" she says.
"But, I'm scared" I confess.
"Why" she asks.
"The young lords of Norsa will come after me again" I say shaking.
"We and your family will protect you" she says confidently.
"You don't understand, the land of Norsa is one of our greatest allies and cannot risk losing them over their useless fourth child and a dispute between children" I cry.
It's sad how a seven year old girl knows so much about politics and knows her family won't defend her. Soon though after hearing my confession her face went from soft and caring to one of hardness and anger. "How dare they treat their own child in such a manner" she rages.
I suddenly felt fearful of this beautiful woman, for her aura surrounding her turned dark and the grass below turned brown.
"Mother, you're scaring the poor girl" Persephone intervenes.
"I'm sorry my little sapling" she says.
Suddenly a large crack of lightning shoots past the sky. "I guess your father wants you back home, the nerve. I'm tempted to just stay here just to spite him" she says.
Another louder and brighter lightning cracks across the sky in return. "Fine, gezz, I swear men are all testosterone and nothing else" she laughs. "It looks like its time for us to leave little sapling" she continues.
"Really" I say sadly
"Yes, sadly it is time for us to part" Persephone says sorrowfully.
"Will we ever meet again" I ask.
"Of course, here" Demeter says handing me the necklace that was around her neck. She then puts it around my neck. The necklace was light green, and the chain was like vines twisting around each other. And the middle the vines circled a seed shaped blue gem that matched the color of my eyes. She then puts it around my neck and sits perfectly on my navel. "Beautiful" i say.
"With this I will know if you are in danger" she says touching my shoulder.
Then Persephone walks up and hands me a bracelet of exotic looking flowers and says "This will give you elegance and grace"
"Thank you. You're to kind" i say gratefully.
"Child you have been blessed by the goddesses, each year you will receive a gift from each, to protect you on your journey"
With the sudden realization of who they were I bowed in respect for the women in front of me. "Child raise your head" Demeter sighs. "You are destined for something great, you are god blessed" she continues.
A loud howl sounded that I bet could be heard for miles. A woman with long black hair stepped out from the tree line. She had a small wolf pup in her arms. "My gift to you" she says walking towards me. She hands me the grayish-black pup. "He will protect you" she continues.
"Thank you" i say grateful.
"His name is moon, when he is older he will be able to transform into human form, cherish him and protect him like he will protect you" she says staring right into my eyes.
"I will" i say confidently. She then turns and walks back to the woods. When she reached the tree line she turned her head slightly towards me and smiled then walked of. Another loud howl sounded out. I smiled knowing it was her. I look down at Moon and in the center of his forehead was a crescent moon. I touched it and my wrist started to glow after a second there was a black crescent moon on my skin. After that I felt a movement in my arms, when I looked down I saw a pair of bright blue eyes that matched my own. I smile and look up and see that everyone left and only me and Moon are left in the clearing.
