Feet pounded against the dew covered grass in the early rising sun. The sun’s deadly rays casting two shadows down to the ground one covered in a cloak, the one that brushed the grass as it ran, the other’s scarf blowing back from the powerful winds. Back in the distance behind the two was a peaceful calm farm house with herds of cattle scattered here and there across the large pastures such beautiful place. What lied beyond this tranquil home was something much darker, more sinister.

“Rupert you need to be faster!” The taller figure snapped a bit, as he tightened his grip on his lovers wrist.

“I can’t go any faster in daylight, Aiden! You know that.” Rupert whined gently, his pale skin turning a peachy color from Aiden tightening his grip on his delicate wrist.

Aiden huffed a bit yanking him forward a bit onto his back. He puffed out some cool crisp air from the weight changing, adding more weight. Aiden shifted his feet and started to run again.

Rupert wrapped his thin arms around Aiden’s neck, as his legs wrapped around his waist assuring himself that he wouldn’t fall off. He cringed from some sunlight touching his skin making some smoke start to whisk off his face. He quickly yanked the hood down shadowing his face from the dead rays that could kill him if he wasn’t careful enough. Rupert moved his fingers up along the right side of his face smearing a dark, thick liquid against his skin he breathed out a trembling sigh, staring down at his fingers. The liquid was his blood causing his wrinkled up in anger, he hated being what he was.

Aiden glanced over his shoulder at Rupert he shifted some of his weight off to the left as he grabbed something from his pocket, tapping Rupert’s bare foot with the tip of it.

Rupert glanced down at his foot, he wrapped his toes around the cold vial and shifted grabbing it. He peered at it to see what was inside instantly he pulled the cork from it and drank the substance down in a flash. Some of it managed to trickle out from his lips as it rolled down off his chin dropping onto his neck, Rupert opened his mouth a bit licking it off his lips along with his fangs. A low rumble escaped from his lips, pressing his face deep into his lovers neck, as his muscles relaxed.
