If you asked me before today what power the moon held, I would have responded that it reflects the light of the sun to illuminate the night and that its gravitational pull works to create the tides of the ocean.
I wouldn't have believed you if you told me it also works to pull people together in unexpected ways. In fact, I have never given much thought to mythology in general. Like most, I always understood it to be fiction. A way for people throughout history to explain the unknown before science came around.
However, I grew to realize that these myths had merits. Myths throughout history were not just stories to explain why people thought storms came; they were wells of information–warnings–for those who were noticing oddities near them. Most importantly, I realized that the fears of those in the past of the supernatural were founded and real despite their inability to accurately find or eliminate these threats.
I don't have a hippie-themed mystery van. In fact, I only have a chocolate bar, my glitchy phone, and a bag of chips to my name. However, I busted the biggest mystery in town. Buckle your seatbelts, kids, because the story I'm about to tell is a wild ride.
