The huge orb was floating over their heads, APB-0431 was staring at all the warriors in the lower levels, expecting any attack from them and ready to counter when necessary, the powerful Sacred Army of Ordara was not wasted at all no matter what the Alliance did against them.
The battle continued in all the four fronts with no more results than the huge loss of lives on the battlefield, Ordara’s forces kept advancing in all directions rejecting the attacks.
Banner, Linuss, Rubik and Aspen, the Four Great Commanders of the Alliance were not a challenge for Blankett, who managed to dominate the entire situation by himself against all the most powerful warriors who were sent to stop him.
The wide white fabric blanket covering all Blankett’s body was stained with the blood of hundreds of fallen warriors, but he didn’t seem to be damaged at all, he looked like a fierce animal, guarding the hug orb in the heights of the cliff, defending it.
They could not see his eyes, but the Four Commanders knew he was staring at them; his huge claws were scratching the cold flood from the ruins, waiting for the moment that any of the Four would attack him.
The sounds of the battle were in fact; rising, APB-0032, along with APB-0431 were in command of the huge army, and they ordered them to advance in all directions, managing to push the Alliance’s army far from the mountain zone towards the forest, leaving a few battalions holding up their positions near the castle.
Blankett was not moving at all, he was just waiting, and it was when the light from the orb in the cliff started blinking. Everyone saw it, and it was when the powerful monster lowered his guard; that Linuss, despite being extremely exhausted, managed to reload his weapon and shoot at him.
Everyone turned around completely scared as they heard the sound of two pieces of steel colliding to each other, sparks were thrown away from Blankett’s face and he stepped back slightly at that moment, but nothing else happened.
They heard a sinister voice as Blankett looked in their direction.
-It is too late to do anything…-
That was the moment when they, for the first time could see his face or at least a part of it; they would never forget that sharp glowing red eye staring at them, and those sharp shark-like-teeth holding the bullet he took. That sick stare, that repulsive feeling invaded the Four Commanders that could not believe it.
It was true; no other creature in the world was like him, claws, glowing eyes, shark teeth and a powerful immeasurable resistance to absolutely everything, something they all believe to have been extinct since millenniums ago.
APB-0431 spreaded his two huge pairs of black wings, common amongst the powerful race of the Tronoss, ready to attack some of the other officers of the Alliance, his heavy armor was no match for those huge wings, still shiny and shimmering armor that protected his body. Despite the brutality of the battle, he took no damage at all.
The orb in the cliff was still blinking, and he was ready to bring it down. And in the lower levels of the castle, APB-0032 was walking over the corpses of hundreds of brave warriors that dared to challenge him.
He honored his name that day, for no other swordsman in the world was a match for him, a common human locked down long ago for the crime of becoming the best of all.
The Blade Master served Blankett very well that day, as he and his troops destroyed all the Alliance’s army that stood against them. He showed absolutely no mercy, especially on the warriors from the powerful Empire of Esmalfania, his enemies by nature.
His glowing yellow eyes sparkled as his silver hair danced to the waves of the night wind. The huge sword-ring levitating around him made him look threatening, and by every step he gave forward the enemy army, this stepped back carefully.
Minutes passed and they all heard the sounds of the battle fading away in the distance, sign that these three powerful creatures finally defeated the Alliance, which they were in fact, running away to their main outposts in the outskirts of the wastelands of Dallenbale.
APB-0431 fluttered his huge wings and in one single jump managed to break the sound barrier at ground level, and in matter of less of a second, he was in front of the orb, whose size was decreasing slowly.
Despite his massive size, APB-0431 grabbed the orb with his huge hands with the delicacy of a princess’ hands, and took it back to the ground…
Linuss and his companions were terrified because of that dreadful discovery. Blankett did nothing still; he just stared at him with that sharp red eye, while his strong jaws crashed that bullet to tiny bits.
They heard an intense buzz coming from the skies above them all, and in matter of seconds; APB-0431 crashed against the ground with the strength of a small meteor. The shockwave tossed away Linuss and his companions to crash to some of the remains of the castle walls.
Blankett, despite being behind APB-0431, resisted the shockwave with no damage.
Rubik was the only one who did not get hurt by the impact, the young Prince of the Kingdom of Landia then saw how APB-0431 stepped aside Blankett and proceeded to give to him the small blinking orb.
He thought no one could touch it; actually everyone thought nobody could even get close to it by any means. It was levitating in APB-0431’s hand, but Rubik’s heart almost stopped when he saw with all clarity how Blankett managed to touch it, and hold it in his own hand, holding it with those enormous claws of his right hand.
APB-0431 then stepped away from Blankett as he was manipulating that small object, that powerful ancient object obeying the will of that horrendous monster.
APB-0032 jumped to a destroyed tower near Blankett, preparing his levitating swords to slay the Four Commanders trapped against the castle wall. With a movement from his hand he opened a magic summoning circle and launched something to Blankett, who caught it easily with his free hand.
The other Commanders regained consciousness fair quick, just to see how that monster was holding the orb with his bare hands.
-It cannot be!!!...- Rubik was astonished, terrified by what he was seeing. –How is… How is that even possible??!!...-
Banner and Aspen were heavily wounded, remaining only Linuss and Rubik to stand against those three unbeatable monsters.
Blankett was wielding that sword, that shape that the men in the castle wall recognized instantly.
It was that indeed, an ancient relic belonging to the Ancient Guardian, he who fought against the King of the Undead ages and ages ago. It was the Dartannis Blade, the most powerful sword ever created. With the ability to store vast amounts of energy, that sword was known to have the power of the greatest mass destructions weapons. And now it was on his hands.
It looked wasted, destroyed, as if it had been in the bloodiest battle of all its history, it was wielded by the Ancient Guardian beyond its limits, which led him to his early death.
The small orb, as if it was an intelligent being, recognized the powers of that wasted blade, and started emitting thunders and sparks.
Blankett raised both of his hands as the sword was ‘calling’ the small orb to fit into the base of the blade.
In a rage impact, Linuss aimed his rifle to Blankett and shot another round directly to his head. The shot was immediately stopped by APB-0431’s shielded hand. He kept shooting but all his shots were stopped. Their chances were fading away second by second.
As APB-00431 lowered his huge hand, the four men could witness how the orb was socket into the base of the blade, which released a huge, powerful shockwave followed by an intense white light coming from the blade.
Blankett raised his hand and the weapon launched a powerful ray of white light to the skies.
The retreating armies saw that, actually, everyone in the continent could see it, as a signal that the worst of all was just beginning…
