I will be writing a little story very much like a story I made in the past. In 8th grade, our teacher gave a prompt for Halloween. Our prompt was trick or treating. We could write whatever we wanted it would just have to follow someone going out for trick or treating, the time in between, and then returning home. This is a remake of this story and what I remember.
The Confession Of Mei Brown
My brother, William, and I were waiting for my cousin Lyla. William and I didn't like Lyla. She was beautiful, rich, and everything I wasn't.
"Mei, when is she going to get here?" said William, about to through a tantrum.
"I don't know William. Don't you think she odd? I thought she hated us, but she wants to go trick or treating and be all 'buddy-buddy' now," I said questioning the matter.
"I don't know, but she is definitely odd."
Right as William spoke a car pulled up out front. The car door swung open and a tall pale girl jumped out of the car. She wore a bloody mask and held a prop knife. As she walked up to our front stairs her high blonde ponytail bounced. She knocked on the front door and waited while looking at her phone. William and I rushed to the door and opened it, fearing she would be angry we took too long.
"What took you so long. I've been waiting a century out here," Lyla said in her annoying high voice, "Well?"
"Oh, yes, I'm sorry we took so long. we were just putting together last-minute pieces on our costumes," I lied. I wore a black witch hat, a black dress, and a black choker. My brother wore wolf ears, a wolf tail, and a red flannel and pants. Grabbed us telling us to hurry up and that it was time to go.
There were kids everywhere on the streets. An array of costumes lined up at houses. One house, in particular, looked the creepiest. It looked like a classic haunted house you see in the movies.
Lyla, William, and I walked around from house to house until Lyla realized something.
"I forgot my phone on a house step!" she yelled frantically looking everywhere for the phone.
"I'll get it," I said not wanting to cause a problem, "You two wait here for me."
"Thank you, dear cousin," Lyla said sarcastically. I walked away to the house she left it at when I heard an ear-piercing scream. I ran towards the scream. It was Lyla. I looked down to see William's body. There was blood everywhere and what looked like multiple stab wounds to the chest.
"I don't know what happened! I walked up to a house and came back and he was like this!" Lyla was screaming.
"We have to go to the police, now!" I yelled grabbing Lyla. We ran towards the old city bridge. While crossing the bridge Lyla grabbed me. I fought back and tried to push her off of me. She was screaming at me. She kept saying she hated me and my brother. She said she wanted to kill us and rid the earth of our horrid presence.
Then, finally, I pushed her one more time and she went flying over the edge of the bridge. I ran as fast as I could home. I was yelling for help the entire way. I ran through my house door and called my parents. They came rushing down into the living room. I told them to call the police and give me the phone.
That's when I explained everything over the phone and then the police arrived.
"Thank you, Mei. We will now be speaking with your parents," the investigator said. Mei's mother then walked into the room. She looked scared and panicked.
"Hello, Mrs. Brown. Please take a seat," the investigator said.
