Chapter 1: Escaping Reality

Chapter 1: Escaping Reality

Nov 16, 2023

When you’re a kid, you dream of living inside books. The worlds are vivid, exciting, lovely, and removed from reality. World devourers would understand, or anime fans, or those that just want a better life different than what they already have. Personally, being an avid reader and imagination connoisseur takes time and dedication. I’ve been reading since I first learned, that was twenty-three years ago now. Just for age sake, I’m twenty-six, now. And this is the story of how I died. It’s not as scary as you think. I went to sleep, like normal one night and woke up in another world.
I mentioned before how there’s lots of people that would love to escape reality. My home life wasn’t terrible. I didn’t want to escape due to a horrible family. I longed to be a fly on the wall for interactions in my imagination conjured about the novels I’ve read.
Before I continue I won’t say this is the typical transmigration story. A story where a person dies and their soul finds another host. I transmigrated yes, but everything isn’t what it appears to be. I’m not your typical south Korean that loved reading manwhas, or webcomics. In fact I’m not South Korean at all. I’m not even of Asian decent. I’m your average sweet as sugar honey sweet tea southern belle from the south in the united states.
Now, I’m not from Florida, although you would think I would want to escape reality based off the craziness that happens there. No offense Floridians. I’m not from Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, or Texas. I’m from the boot. Louisiana. We call it the boot because when you look at a map of the united states there is a man standing in front of a toilet. Again no offense but to Texas this time. I like to think the boot was accurate for it because it was hot, sweaty and sometimes smelled. Not a bad smell, but that depended on where you lived.
Magnolias are rampant were I lived. Or used to live. By way of my mama I now live in New Mexico. Bless her heart. If I was going to be a transmigrator I wished, my pooch could’ve come with me. That will be awful when someone comes to find me and I just won’t wake up. And my poor Skippy will just have to be rehomed to someone else. That sucks the most, honestly. You never think you’ll die when you’re young. Always assume it will be after you’ve reached fifty. Which fifty isn’t even that old. Its just twenty four years from now or was anyway.
So, if you’ve read transmigration stories then you know there was no truck that hit me, or I slipped and drowned, or died of the cold, or was pushed off a building. I essentially got ready for bed in the cutest PJ’s I had. Ducks. My pj’s had cute ducks on it. It was fleeced line and very soft. I Climbed into my bed, wrapped my blankets around my body and just went to sleep. I woke up in one of my favorite books. The title isn’t that long but I preferred to call it centuries. Its really called centuries of Love.
A summary of the plot goes like this. A woman keeps getting reincarnated but every life she falls in love with the same man. He just so happens to be a vampire. Their love affair started centuries ago when vampires were hunted and killed. Now, its been a few years since I’ve read it and in the mean time I’ve read several… hundred stories with vampires, fae, and other supernatural creatures. I maybe mixing it up but there is a fae creature that pines for either the human or the vampire. I don’t remember.
Its hard to keep plot lines together when you devour books like a person would devour a whole pack of double stuffed oreos, the party size. Don’t judge me but on a book session I have done that. with a half a gallon of milk. I hope I didn’t have a heart attack from my terrible eating habits. Well, anyway. The female lead and the male lead always find each other and fall in love. The female lead doesn’t always reincarnate as a woman. Which hey that’s pretty good considering we never know how reincarnation works.
The poor fae always does something that causes them grief and eventually gets locked away by the fae king, which happens to be her papa. Now most transmigrators are either a side character, the villain, or female lead or whatever. I was shafted. I’m the despicable ‘villian’ as you would put it. yep, I am now the person that causes the couple grief. I could ignore the couple and live my new found fae life as I see fit but again, if you’ve read enough of these stories, you know that that always backfires and alters the story. The male lead that once despised the villian or villianess falls for them. Same with if you follow the plot line you end up getting the bad ending. None seem appealing to me, at all.
Whats a former southern belle to do when you’ve died in your sleep and your soul was transmigrated into your favorite book? well, you do both. Both ignore the loving couple and follow the plot line to the best of your abilities. that’s what you do. Who knows it may actually work in my favor.
What’s the couple’s name? and mine? Well, as of now, I am Cianna Mcfae. I know ironic but Cianna isn’t Scottish or irish or European. The author just liked the last name mcfae. I will say their imagery is great. Cianna has large but delicate wings. When I turn them in the light they look iridescent with streaks of pink and purple. Two of my favorite colors by the way. I may not like being the villainess but I do love that she has long tresses, the color of midnight. I mean the inky black sky when there aren’t any stars or moon in the sky.
Its not the typical fae hair. The European style. My hair before I died was sadly relaxed. I lived in a world where I could be reprimanded for my natural hair. Being called unkempt, dirty, or patted like a damn animal was very much retched. But now, the curls are so tight and thick I look as if I have a wild lions mane and I love it. I REALLY love it. Her lips are plump, similar to how mines used to be. her eyes are a gorgoues shade of gold with blue flecks in them. Unrealistic I know but hey the fae aren’t real or what I thought so they get to do and be whatever they want.
The only think besides the hair and eyes that is different is my body shape. Again fae can look however they want but when I went to sleep I was a plump shapely little fun sized person. Now I have leg for days and I’m more on the thin side. I went from being pint sized at five feet to now being an amazonian at five eleven. At least the body is proportionate. Both my breast and ass are the same size, not that fae wear bras or even panties. Yep, I woke up to being covered in a revealing petal dress with nothing underneath. Other than the petal dress I was a bare as a shown lamb. Not my idea of clothing if I’m honest.
Next, is the male lead. Again he isn’t your typical European vampire. He’s not pale and sickly. Not that they are well, the undead could be considered sickly. Anyway, he is dark skin. There is a grayness to his hue but its faint. Even when he hasn’t had blood you cant really tell. Unless, he shows his fangs. You’d just assumed he was just an ill person. His hair is short, although it has been stated with blood pumping through their veins they can grow their hair if they wanted. Delfine doesn’t want to. That’s his name by the way. Delfine Demare Locke. Quite a name right? the name does match the ethereal prowess he possess. He’s been a vamire for two centuries already and even before he became a vampire he was just as handsome and ethereal as he is now.
Granted his eyes were once a deep brown but now after he’s feed they turn golden honey. I’d wager they are about a shade or two darker than Cianna. Delfine is muscular. I mean it when I saw that he gives all vampires a good name. the reason why so many assume vampires are godly is because of him. i used to dream of meeting him in person and well, shit I can now. hopefully I wont do anything stupid. I can honestly say I know that I will.
Lasty, we have our female lead. They say some people need no introduction and that would apply to Naomi Livingston. Since her name is Naomi Livingston I would say we are on her third life. I, Cianna, will be imprisoned by the time she has been reincarnated a total of seven times. You heard it correctly I tormented this wonderful couple for a whole four lifetimes. Go me! That was sarcasm by the way. Cianna is a persistent little one right?
Naomi is short. Her previous life she was either tall or average height. This time I tower over her. which works for intimidation. What I don’t plan on doing at all. I don’t remember her eyes or anything else. Maybe its because her Naomi life was more plain jane. I do remember she was a bit on the whiny side. I rolled my eyes so much when I would read about her as Naomi. Some of the things she did and said earned her a slap or three. Which I can guarantee I will do so because I hate that she acted that way.
There are side characters that are important like my new papa, the king of the fae. He’s cool and gorgeous but having those feelings about your blood relative is frowned upon. Cianna’s, my, best friend. She’s your typical fae, mischievous and is the reason why Cianna gets locked up. and there’s also johannes. He’s Delfine’s human servant. Story lore goes that Delfine was once his servant but after being turned johannes didn’t want to get old or die so he became a human servant.
Now, that’s the backstory. I know it was a lot but hey, I couldn’t just very well jump right in to the story without an explanation. Oh, and one more thing. Since I said we are on the third life I guess I should say that I am the ripe old age of one hundred and fifty five. I’m close in age to Delfine. I said he’s been a vamire for two hundred years. He’s been twenty five that entire time. So, technically he is two hundred and twenty five. Its only a seventy five year age difference.
Ok, no more overloading you with this. I told you I woke up as Cianna and our story begins with the worst day of Cianna’s life. The day she was dumped by her betrothed. I think he was a jerk but they were engaged for fifty years.

I transmigrated into my favorite novel! This can't be happening! Cianna, a fae princess, feels the connection with Delfine. She wants her happily eternally after with him. Delfine, a vampire, is bound in love to the soul of Naomi, the spirit he loves. Naomi had been reincarnated at least five times so far but always finds Delfine. Cianna hates that Delfine doesn't look her way, so she does what any spoiled princess does. Cause mischiefand mayhem. She is bound to be locked away for continuing to destroy their happiness and exposing the fae community. But what happens when Cianna is no longer the Cianna of the novel but a transmigrator? New Cianna wants to avoid the bad ending of being locked away for all eternity but doesn't want to change the novel too much. What happens when she gives zero f*cks and does what she wants when she wants while semi following the novel plot? What is a transmigrator to do when they've been forced into a novel as the villianess? Does what any migrator does.
