Marie has always dreamed about traveling outside her home country, so when her country’s government orders her entire family to travel to the Land of Maratencha as officials of peace and to forge an alliance or a colony with this new land, it’s like a dream come true. Or so she hoped. Arriving in this “new world”, an old family friend arrives with a caravan of giant beasts and takes the family to the Kingdom of Mara. Marie soon finds herself falling in love with the kingdom’s landscape, and one of its Emperor’s sons. Things soon become complicated for Marie in this new land; her step-brother begins to show his true feelings towards her, there are threats of a war breaking out in Maratencha, and her relationship with the prince is becoming harder to hide.

   Can she make the right choice should war erupt in the kingdom; will she run away and return to the life she dreads, or stay with the man she loves and hope that peace returns to the land he calls home?
