Chapter 1
My name is Samuel Knight, actually this time. The story you're about to hear, as you know, can never be easily comprehended. It’s about a boy, who explored the world so much of it. He knows there’s more to explore though, and he’s going to find it. It just hasn’t really shown itself too much, yet. But if it won't show itself, then he will just have to find it himself.
Samuel and Jackson have done it all before, sneak into camp on ground, get to the portal, and gone to Marshlake. This time they planned something new, Samuel had been learning some new ways to travel. They only had one new, tiny problem. Samuel's roommate.
“So Samuel, what's camp like?” His new roommate asked,
“Adam don't worry, you'll find out.” Samuel said, even though he had no idea if he would really find out.
“Well, you’ve gone there for three years so shouldn’t you know?” Adam asked,
“Ya but I want it to be a surprise.” said Samuel, “Can you go get some snacks?” Samuel asked, just trying to get him out of the room.
Adam nodded, “Of course!” Adam ran out of the room,
When Samuel was sure Adam was gone, Samuel pulled out his phone and called Jackson. When he picked up Jackson yelled, and Samuel yelled back. They had been arguing to see if they should tell Adam about their adventures, but they hadn’t decided.
“So we’re in agreement right?” Samuel said,
“Yes, but you have to remember the consequences.” Jackson said,
“Yes I do.” Samuel said,
“But you also know that there's a possibility that he might get chosen right?” Jackson asked
“Arg, yes.” Samuel said, “But we don't know what kind of powers he’d unlock.” Samuel peeked out the door to see if he was coming yet.
“He might not even get powers.” Jackson added, “Neither of us got powers on our first try, and you're the one who chose him. You said ‘He has great power within him’ So it’s your fault if everything goes wrong right?”
“Yes.” Samuel shook his head,
Jackson nodded, “Good, meet you there.”
Samuel nodded, “Got it, I’ll break the news.” Samuel smiled.
Jackson shook his head, “You just love that trick don't you?” He asked,
Samuel looked at him, “Who wouldn’t?”
Samuel had made sure everything was in order, no taxi, no Mr. Operio, nothing to bring them. Samuel had told Adam that they were taking the bus, but as you probably know that’s not how Samuel rolls.
“Why are we taking the bus?” Adam asked.
“Oh, Mr. Operio had to do something and the taxi’s always smelled gross.” Samuel lied.
“So we’re taking a vehicle that has just as many people as the taxi has had in its lifetime?” Adam said,
“No, first we’re meeting up with Jackson. Now that I think about it we might not take the bus.” Samuel ran around a corner of a building, and looked for Jackson. Jackson came dashing down the street, but stopped when he saw Adam and Samuel.
“Yes! Summer camp, totally not super crazy!” Jackson smiled,
“Ya, good one.” Samuel said, “Well time to take the bus.” He turned to Adam. “I’m sorry I have to do this.” Samuel summoned his staff, and examined it. “Ah I missed you.” Jackson summoned his armor, and smiled.
Adam, on the other hand, didn’t believe his eyes. “What was that?” He asked,
“This is the way we’re getting to camp.” Samuel said, he grabbed onto Adam. “Welcome to the world of magic.” Samuel pulled Adam next to him, and onto the staff, “I’ll explain later.”
As they flew through the city, Adam kept saying things like. ‘This can't be real!’ ‘Am I going crazy?’ ‘What is happening?’ but Samuel didn’t stop, they went so fast nobody was able to see them. Adam turned to Samuel,
“So what exactly is happening?” He asked,
“Finally, well first of all this camp that we’re going to?” Adam nodded for Samuel to continue, “We’re not going there.”
Adam looked at him, “But aren’t we signed up?”
Samuel laughed, “Actually they don't care who’s in the camp, we’ve snuck in and out of there three times and we were fine.”
Adam looked around and saw Jackson, “So what’s that?”
“That’s Jackson, also known as. The Godspeaker. I’m known as The Master Knight.” Samuel started to explain.
“So you're like superheroes?” Adam asked,
“We’ve saved the world from annihilation, like twice. So ya you could say that.” Samuel said,
Adam looked at them, “Cool.”
Samuel looked back, “Oh, also you might get cataclysmic powers if you're not careful.”
“What?”
“And we’re here.” Samuel landed on the ground of the camp, and looked around. They were right next to the hiking trails, and there weren’t any counselors there yet.
“So where is this magic world?” Adam asked,
“Wait for Jackson then we’ll be on our way.” Samuel said, they saw a yellow lightning bolt come straight at them. It stopped and waved at them.
“Hey.” Jackson said,
Adam came up to him, “What is this?” He asked.
“Armor given to me by the gods themselves.” Jackson explained,
“Can I have it?” Asked Adam,
Jackson pulled his armor into himself, and showed Adam his gauntlet. “Cool right?”
“Amazing, are you really called The Godspeaker?” Adam asked,
“Ya I don't really get to choose the name.” Jackson smiled, Adam laughed.
“Come on, we need to find the portal.” Samuel started walking into the forest.
“The portal?” Adam asked,
“The dimensional portal leads to the magical island called Marshlake.” Jackson explained, “But it only opens at certain times.”
Samuel turned around, “And if we miss that time gap, we're stuck at this stupid summer camp.” Samuel looked over at the puddle that it was in last time, and threw a rock into it. Nothing. “Jackson, can you look for the portal, while I help Adam understand all of this.” Samuel asked,
“You got it.” Jackson sat on the ground and closed his eyes,
“Alright, I know this is all very last minute but it has to be now.” Samuel said, “This world is only one of many worlds, and this portal we’re trying to find leads to a very special one. It holds the ability to do magic.” Samuel walked around a bit looking for the portal in obvious spaces. “There is a possibility you might gain the abilities of knight’s magic, which me and Jackson will have to train you in.”
“So what’s on the other side of the portal?” Adam asked,
Samuel looked at him, “We have friends that work at a magic school, they will help us with…” Samuel looked down.
“With who?” Adam asked,
“With the controllers.” Samuel said, “A cult, devoted to destroying all connection to the multiverse. All we have to do is beat them up and it will be fine, for now.”
“For now?”
“Yes, but that comes later. You have much to learn and I’ll teach as much as I can.” Samuel said. Adam nodded.
“Found it.” Jackson said, Adam and Samuel turned around to see Jackson looking up. They followed his view to see a spiral of branches to create an almost “portal” shape.
“Fun,” Samuel said, “Hey Jackson, can you get up there?”
Jackson shrugged, “I can try.” Jackson ran up a tree, and went straight into the portal.
“Guess he can,” Samuel grabbed his staff and sat on the front of it, “Ready?” Adam looked skeptical, Samuel got off the staff. “Fine, hold onto me.” Adam held onto Samuel’s arm. Samuel cast his flight spell, and they both started to float into the air.
“How are you able to do this?” Adam asked,
“I can cast spells through the staff, and make it cost less mana. We’ll talk about that later though.” They floated up into the portal, and entered
Samuel opened his eyes. He saw the cosmic space in between dimensions, he looked over to Adam. His eyes were open too, Adam was looking at him with a crazy grin on his face. Suddenly a huge arm pulled Adam and Samuel to the side of the tube, this was going to be crazy.
