Chapter 1

My name is not Samuel Knight, Oh my gosh that felt so cool! Ok ok, Jackson be cool. Oh well there goes the surprise, my name is Jackson Liberta. The story you're about to hear can't be easily comprehended, of course none of them are. This is about a boy who only ever wanted to be happy and adventurous, I got what I wanted. But more was coming then I could ever have thought. And once again as Samuel always says prepare for your life to change forever. That was really cool, thanks for listening!

Hello! First of all, some of you might think I'm a wizard. I’m not. I don't know what I am, yet. I’ve always been different then everyone, even Samuel, and I never knew why. The reason I came to Marshlake was because I thought I could find a place that I was normal in, and I think I did. I’ve never been good at magic, but when Samuel told me about combat magic. Oh, boy did I need to try.

“Come on, there has to be more to it!” Jackson said to Samuel,

“There’s really not, I was touched by dimensional energy. That’s how I got these powers, and I don't know if there’s any other way to get them.” Samuel said,

“Well, maybe this time I’ll be the one to hit the tube thing you were talking about.” Jackson said,

“Oh, you mean the drift. It’s the place between the dimensions, and you can only get powers from it if you touch it. Or if you're pulled into it.” Samuel explained,

“What do you mean pulled?” Jackson asked,

“Sometimes there’s an invisible force, that uh, pulls you. Ya that's what happens.” Samuel was talking a bit weirdly, like he wasn’t telling the truth. Jackson was about to ask, but Samuel said he was ready, “You ready? Come on.” Jackson followed Samuel with all of his stuff, down the hall of Samuels Orphanage. Like Samuel said last time it was a big deal for some reason, and Samuel went along with it. Jackson got into the car with Mr. Operio first, while Samuel was being hoarded by the other orphans.

“So Mr. Liberta,” Jackson looked at Mr. Operio,

“Yes sir?”

“Are you excited for summer camp? Samuel can't stop talking about how you two just get to relax and watch a bunch of movies.” Mr. Operio said,

Right Jackson forgot about the lie they had put in for their caretakers, Jacksons parents trusted Mr. Operio so they were able to get Jackson to stay with Samuel. They all think the counselors let them watch movies for a month, but that’s not the full truth.

“Mr. Liberta?” Mr. Operio asked again,

“Oh yes, so excited. I can't wait for it.” Jackson lied,

When Samuel got into the car he was waving goodbye to all the other orphans.

“You ready Jack?” Samuel asked,

“You bet Sam.”

When they got to the camp it was the basic routine, they snuck past the opening ceremony. They didn’t have to deal with the counselors, and they got to the forest. Jackson was ready for another round of Marshlake, but before Jackson could look for the portal. Samuel stopped him.

“Jack, I have to tell you something.” Samuel said,

“What’s up?” Jackson asked,

“The last time I went through the portal, I talked to a few people. They told me not to tell you anything, you're about to meet them.” Samuel said,

“What?” Jackson asked,

“Jackson we weren’t just randomly selected to be doing this, I talked to the gods. You're about to become like me, but different. You’ll understand soon, for now come on.”

Jackson was still very confused, but followed Samuel. Samuel walked around until he stopped right in front of a giant puddle, usually Samuel would just walk right through the puddle. Like he did in New York, but why didn’t he now?

Samuel looked at Jackson, “See you on the other side.” Samuel jumped into the puddle, and vanished beneath the surface. Jackson was stunned, and looked around. Then jumped right in after him.

Jackson opened his eyes to see a cosmic background, just like Samuel had described it. In fact he could still see Samuel, he was unconscious. Jackson tried to call for him, but his voice wouldn’t work. Then Jackson saw a hand come from the void, the interdimensional gap. He was slowly pulled into it, and he went unconscious along with Samuel.

When he woke up he expected to see Marshlake, but instead he saw a hall, with multiple glowing people? He looked around and there were many of them, but one stood out the most. They glowed green, and were starting to stand.

“The great Jackson Liberta!” The green one said, everyone started clapping.

“Huh?” Jackson looked around and saw many glowing figures, the green one of course. There was one glowing red, and clapping very slowly. One was glowing blue, and was surrounded by strange creatures. Another was glowing white, so much so it was hard to see them. One glowed black, almost the opposite as the other and that Jackson didn’t notice them at first. One glowed a very dark blue, and a throne made of rocks. One had the same look of what he’d seen before when it was all cosmic. Another the same, but with a pink hint. Another was glowing golden, and their throne was made of turning gears. One was a very light blue, and the last was a yellow. “What’s going on?”

The green one walked forward, they stood five feet taller than Jackson. They knelt down to become face to face with Jackson, “You have been chosen by the gods to carry out a duty so important you may die doing so.” Jackson looked at the being’s face, at least what he thought was his face, he couldn’t really tell. “A war is coming, the controllers have waged war on the entire multiverse. Including us. Soro has been chosen to lead the battle against them.” The green god pointed to the red god, who was apparently Soro. “You have been chosen to stop this war, and we will give you the materials needed for this.”

“Wait so I have to stop a war?” Jackson asked,

“You and your friends must stop the war with the world and the controllers. We will be giving you the power you need for this task.” The green god pointed at the god with the cosmic glow,

“Eyser shall give you the ability to sense nearby enemies.” The cosmic god summoned a staff with a point, and tapped the top of the staff on Jackson's head. He felt powerful, and could sense everything around him.

“Imire shall give you the ability to become untouchable.” The pink tinted cosmic god stepped up and held out their hand out to Jackson, who took it. When he felt the hand of the pink colored god, he felt weightless. He lost the gods grip and his hand went through the gods. Jackson stared at his hand.

“Zitorious shall give you the power of speed.” The yellow glowing god appeared in front of Jackson, and tapped Jackson’s shoulder. Jackson felt a shock go through his body, and felt stronger.

“Promeseis shall give you pureness.” The light blue god lifted his hand over Jackson, and allowed small lights to fall on the boy.

“Kiro and Sarino have crafted you the finest of tools.” Two gods walked up to Jackson, one held a staff and another held a scythe. They both pointed their respective items in the air, and a suit of armor appeared. It flowed into Jackson, and what seemed to be a tattoo appeared on his hand and arm.

“These are the tools we give you, and these are the tools that will save your worlds. Good luck.” Jackson fell and blacked out.

An adventure through a world of magic, showing that even people who are considered different can be chosen for great things. This time, a new power comes into play. With a new Chosen, what events are to come in book three in Rise of Marshlake. One more thing, I think Samuel needs some time off.
