Chosen Ones: The Fall of Marshlake

Chapter 1

My name is Samuel Knight, this story is about a boy who never wanted anything but to explore the world. He explored that world, many times. Now that exploring had gotten him in a bad position. Samuel was now immortal, and he had to fight an interdimensional beast that threatened to destroy the world. Mondays are the worst, am I right?

If you need to get caught up I wouldn’t be surprised, the last four years were insane! This year was the most insane of them all though. First he had to evade a cult for a whole week, then he was blasted by interdimensional magic. He could do some pretty amazing things with that. Then his best friend was literally blessed by the gods, and then he had to try and stop the Controllers from summoning HIM, which was complex to say if he won or not. Now HIM was here, and was here to feed off the magic of this realm. But that's all that really has happened, you have officially been caught up. Now for the bad stuff.

“Ah, how I’ve missed Marshlake, people quiver in fear, others loyal and unable to see what’s right in front of them.” HIM says, “They all are loyal to either me, or you.” HIM turned around to look at Samuel, “Are you ready for our final fight Knight! Your family has threatened me for too long, now it is me you shall threaten not just you but your world!” HIM punched Samuel from a distance Samuel didn’t even think was possible, he wasn’t that hurt but still that far?

Samuel looked at HIM and teleported away, he went back to the Study. He saw everyone, and put his hands up.

“I thought I could keep him back long enough to close the rip, but I couldn’t. HIM has escaped.” Samuel told his friends,

They all looked back at him, and Eric pushed Samuel a little bit. “Why didn’t you bring us!”

Samuel was confused, “I thought you didn’t want that.”

Carlene came next to Eric and hugged him, then looked at Samuel. “We don’t, but if it’s what we have to do to save our home. Then so be it.”

Samuel smiled, “Thanks,” Eric and Carlene huh? Nice couple. “But now we have to get out there, and stop HIM. If you can get me an opening I can send HIM back to the void, but I don't know if it’s enough to trap HIM.” Samuel started looking over a few void magic notes, then he saw something. Each spell has the element then a way to use it, so what if? He ran over to the closest chalkboard and started writing.

“Um Samuel, what are you doing?” Sylvan asked,

“I think I’ve finally found the rune combo method that I’ve been looking for.” Samuel said, “And I think I can find a way to do this.” Samuel had drawn two new runes that he’d found while in his speed research, it was the void rune and what he believed was called the crystal rune.

Sylvan looked at it, “What is this supposed to do?”

Jackson looked at it, “It’s a way to trap HIM in the void.”

Samuel pointed at Jackson, “Exactly. This rune will send HIM to the void if I can't send him in before that.”

Eric nodded, “Alright so plan A,” He pointed to Samuel, “And plan B.” He pointed to the rune combo.

“Exactly, but I will need help.” He looked at his friends, “I’m so sorry for what I did. I thought I needed to do this alone, but I didn't. I have something the other knight’s didn't, friends.” Samuel said,

Eric patted him on the back, “Friends who won’t leave you for anything. So what are we waiting for?”

Samuel smiled, “Well I’ve been thinking, and I think it’s about time all of you get knight’s magic.” Everyone gasped.

Samuel took a few books out trying to find the right spells, while his friends were asking questions.

“What are you talking about giving us knight’s magic?” Carlene asked,

Samuel smiled, “Well I’ve been researching, and I found a spell when used correctly could give a person knight’s magic. I don't know if it will work fully though.”

Charles smiled, “I don’t care, I just want those amazing illusions!”

Eric was also enthusiastic about it, “Fire out of my finger tips would be kinda cool.” and Carlene didn’t even wait for him to prepare the spell.

“Just do it!” She yelled.

“Wait, hold on!” Sylvan yelled, “What if it doesn’t work.”

“Then they can use the magic they have now, and it’ll work.” Samuel assured him, “Alright one at a time please.” They all lined up, Eric was first and looked calm about the transformation. “Ready?”

Eric nodded, “Ya I'm ready.”

“Ok, Nwcoyalite coyaliwhansa.” Samuel spoke, and waves of orange energy were pushed into Eric with the dark void.

When he opened his eyes he looked around, “Nothing feels different.”

“We’ll have to test it out later, but I think it might have worked.” It was time for Charles, “Ready?”

He nodded excessively, “Yes.”

“Nwcoyalite coyaliwhansa.” This time waves of blue energy went into Charles with the void, he opened his eyes.

“Hey Eric was right, it doesn't feel any different.” He looked at his hands, then walked aside to Eric.

“You ready Carlene?” Samuel asked,

She nodded, “Let’s do this.”

“Nwcoyalite coyaliwhansa” Green energy flowed into Carlene this time, and when she opened her eyes she didn’t think much of it.

“So what do we do now again?” She asked,

Samuel smiled, “Well, I have no idea. So maybe try saying. Soyocomwmartia?”

Eric nodded, “Soyocomwmartia.” Eric looked at himself, then he burst into flames.

“Eric!” Carlene yelled,

Before everyone could go to help him, “Wait! It doesn’t hurt!” He looked at himself over and over, seeing his new coat of fire. “It’s cool.”

Charles smiled, “Cool! Soyocomwmartia!” Charles grew into a giant, “Wow!”

“Hey Charles! You think you can undo that?” Eric yelled,

Charles Smiled, “Don’t worry, it’s just an illusion.” Charles’s illusion faded, and Charles appeared at his normal size. “Ta da!” Charles said,

“Wow!” Carlene said, they all looked at her. She had grown multiple vines out of the ground, and they were swiping everywhere.

“Carlene, how did you do that?” Eric asked,

“I don’t know.”

Samuel winced, “You guys are going to need some training quickly, then we all have to defeat HIM.”

They all, at the same time, said, “Yes.”
