Alexandra woke to the sound of Chris singing at the top of his lungs. She walked into the living room, and sat next to Chris. "Hey, did I wake you?"
"Dad, I'm not positive, but I think you should call russia."
"Why?"
"Because you woke them."
He laughed. "Did you sleep well?"
"Yeah, so, what time is the party?"
"Starts at three, ends at eleven."
"That late?"
"Well we have to use the fire pit."
"Whatever, I wont argue. So, what should I do, get the food ready?"
"Xandra, you're not getting your own party ready. You will go get a manicure and pedicure in town while I set up the party. When you get back you stay in the living room or your bedroom until it's time for the party. Got it?"
"Oh, shopping, then a manicure and pedicure the next day? You spoil me."
"Oh, and you're going to a full spa, so get other stuff done to. Like a facial, eyebrows, I don't know, whatever girls do."
"Dad, if you spend all your money on me the first week, we won't have groceries for a month."
"Xandra, for the last time, I have plenty of money. Don't worry about it. Just go have fun." He smiles as she hugged him and walked out.
She took a cab into town, and reached the spa in what seemed like no time at all. She sat in the waiting area, listening to her headphones until they called her over. "Alexandra Young?"
She stood up and walked over to the short asian woman, and smiled at her. "Hello."
"What do you want done today?"
"Manicure, pedicure, and eyebrow threading."
"Okay, pick colors, then take seat there." The woman walked over to a chair and sat on a stool in front of it. She walked over to the nail polish wall, and looked at the large choice of colors. She chose a sparkly gray. She went and sat in the comfy chair and took her sandals off. The woman was doing her pedicure, while a man was doing her manicure. She had her head phones in the whole time, currently playing was God your mama and me by Florida Georgia line featuring back street boys. She absolutely loved Florida Georgia line. They were just amazing. She had never been a big fan of the back street boys, but they made a good addition to this song. It had been nearly an hour, and the man was done with her manicure. The man then got the thread and started working on her eyebrows. She felt every hair leaving her skin as he threaded. She didn't quite see it as pain, just a short sting. She didn't really mind the sensation.
She was standing by the cash register, and the man pushed a few buttons and got a total. "Seventy-five dollars." She handed him the money, along with a five dollar tip for him and the woman who did her pedicure. "Have nice day, come back soon."
She got in the cab and greeted the man. He was tall, and had long blond hair and a goa tee. "Where to?"
"107 beacon st."
"Okay, haven't seen you 'round here before." He started driving towards her house, and they kept up small talk the whole time.
"Yeah, I just got adopted by Chris Young."
"Oh, I know Chris. Not very well, but we went to school together. We talk from time to time. I'm glad to see how successful he is. I always knew he'd go into the music business."
"Yeah, dad's great. I'm so lucky to have been adopted by him."
He pulled up outside her house, and she went to hand him the twenty-five dollars, but he declined. "No, you're Chris's little girl, it's on the house."
"Are you sure?"
"Definately. You tell Chris that Randy Cagle said peekaboo. He'll no what it means."
"I will, it's nice meeting you."
"You too, and hey, take care of yourself."
"Will do." She walked in the house and saw Chris. "Hey dad."
"Hey, you look nice."
"Thanks, hey, I ran into someone named Randy Cagle..."
His face got tense. "Xandra, what did he say to you?"
"He just said that he knew you, and that you went to school together."
"Xandra, this is very important, did he say anything else?"
"He said to tell you that he said peekaboo, and he told me to take care of myself. Then he didn't charge me for the cab ride. He seemed really nice."
"Listen to me Xandra, if you ever see him again, do not, I repeat, do not go near him."
"Dad, what's going on, who is he?" She looked scared.
"Xandra, he's very dangerous. He tried to kill me in highschool." Chris lifted his shirt to show a scar on his abdomen that looked like he had been stabbed.
"Oh my God! He did that to you!" She looked like she was about to cry.
"Xandra, don't worry about me, I can protect myself. But promise me, if you ever see him again, turn around, and walk away. Because believe me, he's a dangerous man."
"Dad..."
"Promise me, you won't go near him."
"I promise dad."
He looked relieved at her words. He took her in his arms and held her close. He kissed her head sweetly, and sighed. "I'm just so glad he didn't hurt you."
"Dad, I'm fine."
"You're sure he didn't touch you."
"No dad, he didn't."
"Thank God. Why don't you go get ready. The party starts in an hour.
