One day, of a warm August, the start of a university for most, there was not much around, just a few small houses down a leaf covered road, when a small cab drove down. It had strange, inaudible music blaring from it, and a very entertaining driver heading down this small road. In the back of the cab sat a young girl in black jeans, a blue vest top, and a purple shirt. It was a boy's shirt but it suited her. She was pale with brown hair around shoulder length but tied up in a bun that was falling apart, she also had a pair of white earphones in but the left earphone was out. Additionally, she had a pair of thick black glasses on a string around her neck. She looked out the window watching the world go by, until the driver spoke up over the music. "SO YOU'RE GOIN' TO WestBrook RIGHT?!" He then turned the music down so he could hear the passenger's response.
"Yeah" she replied, she was quiet, her voice not high and yet not very low it, was obvious from her voice she was British.
"Cool, what are ya studyin'?" He asked
"Media and dramatic studies"
"Cool, what course set you down for?" he asked
"Twilight"
"Really?” he asked “I didn't think many peepz still took the twilight set! Haha! wow, yer in for a hell of a time!" he laughed
"I guess..." she replied trailing off
"So, do you know what sorta dorm yer meant to be in?"
"It's meant to be this double unisex thing?" she answered unsure herself
"Really? Then where the hell's yer boyfriend?"
"Non-existent" she shrugged
"Oh sorry, I didn't know you were that kinda girl...”
"I'm not; I just... thought it would be different. I'm used to it though."
"What? How could you have lived like that all the time, a boy and girl being roommates!? I wouldn't cope with that!"
"Well, I'm used to guys. When my mum died I became the only woman in my house so... Yeah I'm used to it."
"Alright, but a double unisex and a twilight course? Hahah, wow, yer in for it girl!"
"Thanks...”
After a few more miles, the cab stopped in front of a large brick gate with lots of other people getting out of cars and saying goodbye to their families. This girl looked odd, the only girl in a taxi and the only one without any family, but no one really noticed. Some men in purple t-shirts came with the name "WestBrook" inscribed on their tops to unpack the back of the cab, but the girl took a few things like a laptop bag and put it carefully over her shoulder, a small but fully packed back pack and put only one side over her shoulder. The men looked at the bags and went off to deliver them to her room after gazing at a clip board. The gate however looked old, and the girl stepped through the crowds of crying mothers and stressing teens, just walking right into the gates. The brick was old but still had some colouring to it, it may have once read Westbrook on the top but it was now faded and unreadable. She walked past the gates with disinterest, while there were lots of people all doing different things, from people with a million bags, to others with only one. The surroundings were simple: A few trees, lots of buildings, nothing special, at the end of a small path was a white table, with people stood at it. She walked over and stood the other side from a rather fat man who looked a few years older than her.
"Name?" He requested in an inviting but tired tone. He had clearly been saying it all day.
"Luna Redgrave...” She answered
"Course set?" he asked
"Twilight." Luna wasn't sure why he really needed to know that, there could only be one Luna Redgrave, it wasn't a very common name. He fiddled with a clipboard, and then proceeded to grab some paper work from about half way down the large pile.
"Okay, Luna Redgrave on twilight set in a double unisex dorm" The man then officially stated.
"Yep, that should be me." She replied, feigning cheerfulness.
He handed her the paper work, it wasn't much but it was quite heavy. When she managed to manoeuvre the paper, so she could easily hold it in her hand, he then passed her a chain with two keys, a whistle, a plastic tag with the words L.R as well as a number on it, and a small sort of elastic spring thing. She took it and used the elastic spring to turn the key into a bracelet.
"Thanks"
"You know, most kids who come for double unisex come with their boyfriends...” he said bluntly
"Well, I don't have one." She answered back
"You're lucky though, only one guy was doing a twilight set and he was happy to be in a double unisex dorm. I haven't seen him yet but you're either really lucky or in really big trouble. I mean twilight sets are for five years."
"I know but the real fact is if he can put with me, and I don't want to kill him, I don't really care, heh."
"Cool."
She then walked away, looking at the paperwork to see where she was. She wondered around for a while just trying to find her dorm, having now put all but her map and dorm sheet in her backpack. Every building looked identical and the map was basically useless. Staring down at the map for a minute with her glasses on her nose... thump! Someone had crashed into her, sending her and them tumbling to the grass. She holds her head for a second, before opening her eyes to see who had hit her. It was a boy, he looked really young, a foot taller than her. He had quite neat blonde hair, which shone in the overseeing light. He was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a grey t-shirt that was slightly covered by a white over shirt. He also had a black back pack on, as well as matching black glasses that had been knocked off-centre by the collision. When he adjusted them, he gazed with wide eyes for a second. "A-a-a-are you okay?" He stuttered. He had a British accent and an all-round beautiful voice.
"I'm fine, just a little lost I think" Luna replied
The boy swallowed before speaking again "So am I."
"Really..? Where are you going?" She asked.
"Hu..." he trailed off, looking down at his piece of paper on his lap.
"Well I'm trying to find-" Luna also looked down at her paper before continuing. "Dorm block B"
"So am I" They both said in sync. "It says I'm on floor 12" The boy clarified.
"I'm room 67 though...” She then raised her arm, showing the key and its door number.
"So am I!" he replied also holding up his arm he had also used the small plastic string to attach it to his wrist with the same number on it
"That can’t be right" the both said before shifting to their knee's to compare sheets but it was they were roommates he then stuck out his arm and then spoke "Isaac Richards"
"Luna Redgrave"
they then shock hands and helped each other up and walking off in a possible direction by the map
