I am from Oregon, I am 21 years old, I was born on January 1 1998, that’s right I am a New Years baby. I am Hispanic/White, I am 5ft (I hate being so short, short people problems all the time). I am an only child, with one loving single mom (she is totally single). I have an average life like any young adult, I HATE driving so I refuse to get my license.
I don't care what you think, I refuse to drive with all these crazy Oregonians and some Washingtonians. I would rather take a bike to short places and a bus to the farthest places. I currently go to community college, I will eventually be going to a 4 year college.
My passion in life is to be a Veterinarian. I want to have my own practise where I care for all kinds of animals. Anything to farm animals to reptiles. I want to own a house with miles of acres so I can put horses, cows, pigs and chickens. Oh and a shit ton of DOGS!!!
Can you tell I love animals. I can’t tell you which animal in this world is my favorite because everyday it always changes.
Monday February 1st 2019.
I fucking hate the sun in the morings. Like I just woke up calm down, I feel like a brand new baby that's just seeing light for the first time, I can hardly open my eyes. I mean it’s my fault I stayed up watching Netflix until 3am, darn you Frontier-but god damn that Jason Momoa will definitely keep you up all night. And my bed is sitting right in front of the window so I deserve it. If you don’t stay up all night to watch Netflix what are you even doing with your time? I mean any chance I get to see that rugged face of Jason Momoa, I will sacrifice my sleep or my time.
The smell of eggs and sausage and WAFFLES almost made me fell out of bed. Whenever I smell food you bet I will be there to scope it out. As I walk down the hallway and down the stairs to investigate I hear music playing.
“Wake up, Wake up, Wake up it’s the first of the month To get up, get up, get up so cash your checks and get up.” Yup it is the first of the month so that means my mom got her money today “score” I scream. “Oh Ami didn’t hear you come down, come and eat” my mom said while dancing and trying to take out the waffle stuck in the waffle maker.
I chuckle to myself as mom is totally struggling to fling the waffle on the paper plate. I throw myself on the gray L shaped couch in the living room. Me and my mom live in an a apartment where the kitchen and living room share the same space.
So as my mom is getting me a plate with eggs and waffles I turn on the news to Fox 12 to see what's up with the world. “Can you please put maple syrup on my waffles mommy?” “sure thing lazy bum!” she shouts as she walks to the fridge for maple syrup. “Thanks” I scream back.
Me and my mom have a love-hate relationship. We don’t fite or anything bad we just like shouting at one another. She is my best friend, my therapist, drinking buddy, Netflix watching buddy and my cheerleader. Being a daughter to a single mom is awesome because we spend every day together. She loves me unconditionally, my father on the other hand is a piece of shit! Leaving my mom at the age of 18, on her birthday and the same day I was born on. He is nowhere to be see or heard of in our home.
“So what are you doing today girly?” mom says as she sits beside me on the couch with our plates of breakfast in her hands. Her sudden question snapps me out of my thoughts. She hands me my breakfast and I answer her “oh you know… school then work, what are you going to do today cougar?”
I say as I shove a peace of waffle in my mouth. “HEY I ain't no cougar… but i can’t help that these good looks attract boys!” oh ya I forgot to mention that my mom is only 38 but looks really hot when she wants to be. But me on the other hand must have got hit with the ugly stick as a kid or something. No i am kidding I look hot just as good as my mom when I get all dressed up.
My mom says “no I kidding I wanted to know if you where free tonight to go to the bar with me and my girlfriends?” “oh! Sure I am free for cocktail hour” I say as I think if I should be going with my mom to the bar with her friends. She has 3 best friends that are almost like sisters to her, but she was also a single child like me. Susan, Heather and Brittany are like my moms golden girls. They have been friends since middle school, have been there for each other all the time, they all even had kids at the same age and roughly around the same time.
My moms friends are amazing, I know them all. We all work at the same place, Pet Companion Animal Clinic. My mom is the receptionist, I work in the back cleaning and taking care of animals that are there for boarding or even help out the animals that get out of surgeries and make them comfy in there cages, Brittany and Heather are sisters and they own the Animal Clinic and Susan is the Veterinarian assistant.
They each have 1 daughter that are my age, except for Susan, she had twins but the 2nd born what strangled by her umbilical cord at birth. We are all best friends, sometimes we all have sleepovers at our houses. Me, my mom, Susan, Brittney and Heather and there girls all go out and party or Netflix and chill. We even make time to travel to different places at the end of the year.
“Oh speaking of work mom I gotta get going or I will be late! it’s already 9am and I have to be there at 10am and the bus stops down the street at 9:30am” I tell my mom as I try to stuff the rest of my half eaten waffle in my mouth.
“Ok I will see you at the Clinic soon” my mom shouts as I rush pass her as I walk up stairs to get dresses. The Clinic doesn’t open until 12 so my mom doesn't have to be there as early as I do since I clean and take the pets a walk, and let them play in there play area.
