"Please stand up." Sir requested, his stern eyes holding mine.
"Yes Sir?" I asked, slowly rising from my seat.
"Everyone, it seems that ₛₕₑ has gotten a failing grade."
"Hey."
"...Eh? What is it?"
"You were falling asleep again. You weren't up late last night were you?"
Barrett asked, green hair falling gently into his eyes as he turned his head to look at her better. "Of course I was. I had to work on that stupid assignment for class. Who the hell expects students to create a functioning life-form with little to no prior experience?" She complained, adjusting to lay her head in her hand as she lazily scanned over the table of her friends.
"Where the hell is Ryu anyway?" She asked. "He's on classroom cleaning duty today, so he should still be there." Juliette offered, voice timid
Her eyes flitted over to Juliette as she spoke, taking in the information before slowly standing up. "Right. Well. I'm gonna go find him."
Pushing her way through the door back into the building, she stopped a second to yawn before returning her trek to classroom 2-B.
"Hey nerd, you here?" She called into the empty classroom.
"God what a pain. I came all the way here only to have missed him."
She pulled her cellphone out of her pocket, quickly selecting his contact.

Looking around the room, she quickly realized the ringing was coming from the closet. "Left his phone huh..." She muttered, as she slid the closet door

"Excuse me, would you mind staying after class?" Sir requested, his voice timid and muffled behind the paper stapled to his face.
"...Why?" She asked, annoyed by the potential inconvenience."
"I just...well, I noticed you were struggling with the assignment,"
MONSTER sat at her desk, an assortment of clay and other crafting items in front of her. "You see," Began Sir, voice low and friendly. "creating life is a difficult task...you really have to treasure and care for your creature as you would a human child." "Why?" She repeated the familiar question. "Why should I? If it's just an assignment I plan to throw out afterwards."
"They'll be sentient, you see. It's important to remember that what you are creating is genuine life." He tried again to explain, now grasping a chunk of the clay in his own hands and carefully molding a small, flat little being.
After a few minutes of shaping it, the creature now began to move on it's own. Dancing around the desk as best as it possibly could, it's form an unholy fusion of elephant and man.
MONSTER trained her eyes on it, observing the frolicking thing with interest and disgust. "It's so small, I could just...HS∩ᴚƆ it."
And with that, the creature was no more.
"There you are! We were starting to get worried." Greeted Sprite, as MONSTER sat down in her usual seat at the table.
"Yeah whatever. Sir had me stay so he could help me with the stupid assignment."
The group chattered on for awhile, talking about lessons and after school plans.
"Hey, where's Ryu?" She asked, only to be met with silence and confused eyes. "Uh...who?" Barrett asked, popping a chip in his mouth and tilting his head.
"Um, Ryu? You know...the necessary nerd character?" "MONSTER I..I don't think we know any Ryu. Are you sure we've met him?" Juliette offered, unhelpfully. MONSTER stood up abruptly, slamming her hands on the table.
"Whatever, I'm sick of this dumb joke already so I'm heading home, tell him to call me if you see him."
The sky was full of clouds, the sun nowhere to be seen as MONSTER walked home, deciding to cut through a park on her way. "I don't know why I even hang out with those fuckin' losers." She mutters to herself, slowing her walk as she approached the bridge going through the park.
She stood, admiring the water for awhile, her mind drifting back to class. "This dumb project...it gives me serious deja vu. It's so not funny."
Slowly stepping backwards, she distanced herself from the edge of the bridge, right as a bike zoomed past her, the rider nearly knocking her on her ass in the process.
Whipping her head up to yell a profanity or two, her anger is quickly forgotten as she see's peachy hair speeding away.
"Hey! Ryu!" She called, hurrying to chase after the bike.
"Slow down! C'mon what's the matter with you today?!"
Ryu glanced back, his eyes clouded with confusion as he saw her as he slowed down a bit. She took his momentary distraction to speed up, finally managing to reach out and yank onto his sleeve sending them both sprawling onto the ground.
"Wha- what the hell?" Ryu asked, jumping up instantly and flinching a bit as he put pressure on his right foot. "What's your problem?!"
"MY problem? YOU'RE the one who disappeared from school today, and got everyone else in on it too!" "I don't know what you're talking about!" He exclaimed, picking his bike up and inspecting it for damage.
"Look, I don't know who you're confusing me for, but I don't know you and you don't know me. We're 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙨.
