The star created me. It gave me life. It gave me a home. But it sacrificed it's own life.
When a star explodes, that's the end of its life but it's light can still be seen lightyears away. It's truly beautiful.
I feel that I am part of the light.
I do not have a name. All I know is that I'm a diamond made from the death of a star. My body is nothing but light. My home is a pocket universe that came from the star's death. It was just clouds. Nothing else.
And just me. Alone.
Until I figured out the first of my many powers gifted from the star. I could put myself in a bubble and go anywhere. So I did. That's where my story begins.
I didn't know where I was going. I just followed a feeling I had inside. When I popped the bubble, I saw so many colours. So many new things.
I saw life.
And it was beautiful.
Though the star was gone, it's light lives within me. It guided me. Taught me things. This is how I learned about everything I saw. Trees, grass, water, mountains, sky, dirt, everything. I desperately wanted to be apart of this process that created life from nothing.
So the star taught me.
I knelt down and scooped up some dirt into my hand. It was so soft and malleable. So much potential.
I put my hands together and pressed as hard as I could. I pulled my hands apart and something sparkled in my hand. It reflected the light from the sun. It had a shift of green and yellow. I was in awe.
Then it glowed and lifted into the air. A body of light formed around the gemstone and became a being like myself. The being looked at themselves then me. They were so small compared to me. They had to be no bigger than my own hand.
"Who are you? Who am I?" The being asked.
"I don't know myself," I replied. "Perhaps we will learn together."
The being smiled and nodded. "I shall call you...Creator. Since you created me."
"And I shall call you...Sphene." I smiled in return.
That's how I became Creator Diamond.
And that's how gems came into the world.
It wasn't long until I made more gems of different colours and names. We all worked together to survive in a world we knew nothing about. We made shelters to protect ourselves from the storms the world had. We thrived and worked with the living creatures to live in harmony.
I was the only gem that was a diamond and since I was the one who create gems, I was made leader. But we all worked together to make decisions. I only agreed to be the leader because it made them so happy. Their happiness was my happiness.
Many years passed and I noticed that the living creatures of the world would one day die. But the gems I made never did. We did not need what the creatures needed to survive. I thought we were immune to death.
But then I learned about another power of mine.
A blue gem I had named Apatite was doing her daily task of gathering materials. She had a power to summon wings made of ice and create ice. She mostly acted as a messenger thanks to her ability to fly. But we all had to do multiple jobs to do.
Apatite had been flying when one of the flying creatures attacked her, mistaking her for it's usual prey. Luckily, gems had been in area and were able to rescue her quickly. I was called for and I went to see what had happened.
Apatite's gem was cracked. Something we had never seen before and didn't understand what it meant.
"Creator, what do we do?" Sphene asked.
I picked up Apatite from the gems. She didn't move. She couldn't. "I'm not sure...I've never seen this happen before." I replied.
Then a thought came to me and I knew what to do. My hand glowed and I touched Apatite's gem. The cracked sealed and was gone. Apatite sat up and touched her gem. "I can move again. I'm okay!"
The gems cheered and I smiled. "I'm glad you are okay."
"Thank you Creator!" Apatite flew up and hugged me.
I hugged back and held her. After that, I created gems who had that healing power. I knew they would be needed and I couldn't be the only one they relied on.
These gems really depended on me for everything. Life, healing, guidance.
What if something happened to me? If a gem could crack, surely it could be broken. Shattered. Without a gemstone, a gem would have no life source. Was that something I could heal?
I didn't want to risk it. I didn't want to risk my precious gems to be without me while solely depending on me for everything.
