People believe in destiny, and often rely on it when choosing a partner; but the truth is another. I would like to take credit for all the beautiful love stories that are created day by day, but that would be arrogant of me, since being who I am, I know that fate is not who accomplishes this. Proof of this are Tadeo and Raúl, whose story I would like to share.
I’ll start by introducing you to the protagonists of this love story. The first is Tadeo, a university professor known for his wisdom and kindness, stood out from the crowd for his appearance; with a height of 2 meters ten his reddish hair with small white locks was seen from a distance, when one approached his green eyes and sharp nose highlighted his soft and thin lips, but what he sighed more was his toned and muscular body covered by custom made suits.
He was the kind of teacher that when he entered the conference room his students were already waiting for him. His classes were always full and all eyes seemed stuck on him. No one would believe that one day the distant look he gave everyone in his class would end up looking at a figure almost non-existent for the rest.
It was the beginning of the new semester and among the many new students, was our second protagonist: Raúl, with his one sixty-five managed to go unnoticed, his long black hair was always hidden under his sweatshirt, his blue eyes, small nose and thick lips were always facing the ground, his slender figure and dark clothes made him look like a shadow.
Without much encouragement, Raúl moved around the university facilities looking for the classroom in which he would have the welcoming conference. Upon reaching the hall the crowd stopped him in front of the door, slowly and being pushed by the rest manages to go to the back and get a seat in the darkest corner of the place.
Now the next part will mean, once, as fate cannot be, a moment like this cannot be given, as well as anything, and I understand that the possibilities are so minuscule that saying fate is the only logical answer that your brain can conceive. It should be emphasized that that day in that classroom, this story began.
Knowing how popular Tadeo was with both students and teachers, the rector had decided to put him in charge of the introductory talks a few years ago, and with the great success that this measure had had, this beginning would not be an exception. The classroom looked like a market because of the number of voices that rose place, however, as soon as the redhead set foot in the room, the silence manifested.
Tadeo began by greeting everyone present before sharing the usual information of each year. Tadeo had always been an observer, not only of the subject he taught but also of the students who filled his classroom. So, as he spoke, he took a moment to inspect the crowded room in front of him. His eyes slowly swept the place to stop at Raul, hidden in the last row, with his head slightly tilted, apparently trying to disappear between the pages of the book in his hands.
The second Tadeo saw him, he could not help but feel a curious connection with Raul, who seemed so absorbed in his book, as if the words in it were the most precious treasures he had ever encountered. The other students remained immersed in the handsome teacher, while Raúl’s anger seemed to dance over the pages, capturing every nuance of what they shared. That view was so strange to Tadeo that he could not help but let loose a slight laugh that put all the girls to sigh.
After 2 hours giving directions Tadeo ended the conversation and I hand over the command to the welcoming committee led by the students with excellence. As he was leaving, he could not help but take one last look at that strange student as he thought how much he would like to have him in his classes.
The days became weeks and Tadeo’s awareness of Raúl grew stronger. And something happened that again anyone would say was my fault, but let’s keep something very present, if Raúl was not a genius, it would be of no use for me to intervene, so of course in this matter I had nothing to do either. You see, because of his good grades and his outstanding performance on the admissions exam, he was given an award, the sappiest in the world, which allowed him to attend a senior class.
I’m sure you’ve guessed what happened, and yes, the prize class you were given was Tadeo’s. So, in each of the classes Tadeo could not help but look at him. It wasn’t just the academic prowess that intrigued him; it was something deeper. It was the way Raul listened so intensely, his eyes full of hunger for knowledge, that reflected Tadeo' own passion for teaching and completely entrapped him.
Coming to provoke that Tadeo often found himself preparing his lectures thinking about Raúl, hoping to awaken even more his curiosity. Even, on more than one occasion, he stayed a little longer at the end of the class, making an effort to engage in conversation with Raúl, offering him guidance and recommendations. Sadly, each attempt ended in a Raul running out of the room looking confused.
Every time this happened, Raul only wondered why that teacher spoke to him, because he smiled and greeted him with so much familiarity even if he was surrounded by beautiful girls, because he deviated from his routine just to give him a small detail, because I kept trying to be closer to him even though I was always running from him. Of course, Raul was not the only one to ask himself that; because of the treatment Tadeo gave him, jealousy began to grow in the hearts of the other students.
Tadeo’s actions were the final blow for Raúl, who was already a social misfit despised among his peers.
