In the dead of night during a time of destruction in Upper Egypt, it is below freezing temperatures. Sand is kicked up as a goddess cuts through Cairo, her body is that of a female woman, and her head is one of a lioness. She brings terror to her enemies, she is a warrior, and a chaotic one at that, full of unrestrained rage and immeasurable strength, her actions completely erratic. She is not a force to be tested by any mortal, particularly mortal men, they are damned if they are unfortunate enough to cross paths with her. Yet, she is only one side of a god, Sekhmet is unruly while Hathor is fair, caring, and morally level. She is the necessary balance, the mercy contained in the vessel, she is warm, bringing the sunshine that kisses the faces of her followers. She is the counterpart to the goddess of the blazing midsummer sun, the one that shoots down her burning rays for all to withstand, she does not differentiate, does not judge between the innocent and the guilty, only persecutes. Even the gods would consider her a sadist, one that needs to be controlled for the sake of their followers, faith must be upheld by the people or they will have lost their purpose, their direction, and their very futures hang in the balance... With this in mind, Ra prepares large quantities of wine, serving it up to the unmanageable goddess in hopes of her being demoted to a mellow, drunken state. As goes according to plan the savage heartily gulps up all of the wine and goes into a deep sleep and when she awakens she is finally tamed. "Thank the heavens, praise the almighty sun god Ra." may the people spanning Egypt rejoice, that chant solidifying their solace, their gratitude.
