“So, when are you gonna drag him into the closet and jump his hot bones?”
“Shhh!” Dylan hissed at Zoe and shoved her down the corridor away from the nurse's station, where Nurse Roberta and Dr. Goodman wouldn’t overhear them. “Would you shut up? God, woman. You're going to get me in trouble.”
Her short bleached blond hair bobbing a little, Zoe snickered and peered around the corner at the doctor. “Oh, come on, I'm pretty sure I've seen him giving you the once over – more than once.”
“Whatever.” Dylan leaned against the wall and shoved his fingers through his hair. He wanted to believe her but knew she was a bit overzealous and often saw things that weren't there. Still, his pulse quickened, and crotch throbbed at the idea of Dr. Colin Goodman noticing him in that way. He grabbed Zoe and jerked her back. “Stop looking.”
“Oh, come on, Dylan,” she chided. “At least flirt with him... if discreetly. Just enough so if he is interested, he picks up on it, and if not... then he won't be the wiser.”
Dylan shook his head and smirked. “What would you know about discretion?”
“I can be discreet.” Zoe wiggled an eyebrow. “When the situation calls for it. And when it doesn't...”
Dylan glanced at her in time to see her step out suddenly as Dr. Goodman came around the corner, a Styrofoam cup of coffee in his hand. “Zoe!” he hissed tight and grabbed for her, but he was too late. Zoe crashed into the man, spilling coffee all over him and the floor.
“Oh god, Dr. Goodman! I'm so sorry!” Zoe cried, so sincere Dylan almost believed her – if he hadn't watched her deliberate the plan. “I'll grab something to clean it up. I'm so sorry.” She turned and winked at Dylan then sprinted down the corridor, leaving him alone with the soiled doctor, eyes wide and throat locked.
Dr. Goodman seemed as shocked as Dylan; Zoe tended to have that effect on people. The man brushed at his white coat, now stained, then raised his eyes and caught Dylan’s anxious stare. Oh shit, he's pissed. But the thought dissolved as a slow, crooked smile dragged across the doctor’s lips. Fuck, just let me have one taste of that smile... please, God!
“Must be my lucky day.” Amused sarcasm warmed his words, but his eyes seemed to be telling Dylan he meant it honestly – no sarcasm implied.
“I'm so sorry, sir.” Dylan's heart raced in frenzied circles inside his chest, bouncing off his ribs, making it hard to breathe. The doctor's blue/gray eyes demanded his attention and got it.
“Accidents happen,” he said. “It's inevitable. Just got to accept it as a part of life.”
Dylan nodded slowly. And sometimes Zoe happens. Also, an inevitable part of life. He glanced down the corridor but no sign of the girl. To Dylan's right was the door to a restroom and he opened it. “I'll grab some paper towels and clean up...” he nodded at the coffee splatted on the floor. He stepped inside and began plucking sheets of paper towel from the dispenser. I don't know what you thought you were accomplishing, Zoe. He turned back towards the door. It isn't as if he's going to-
A sharp breath sucked down his throat when he nearly collided with Dr. Goodman as the man entered the bathroom behind him. “Maybe I can get some of the stain out before it sets.” He smiled and approached the sink. Dylan stood in front of the towel dispenser, frozen in place, being in such a small space with the one man he desired more than any other.
Goodman's entrancing eyes gazed at him. “Are you going to give me some?”
His pulse picking up speed, Dylan shuddered. “H – Huh?” The doctor just stared at him a moment before his eyes slowly lowered to the paper towels clutched in Dylan's hands. “Oh.” He swallowed thickly and handed a couple to the man.
Chuckling low, amused, Goodman wet the paper towels and cast Dylan a sidelong glance that he found insanely sexy. “What did you think I meant?”
“Uh... nothing.” Dylan's voice squeaked a little.
Goodman chuckled again and began wiping at the coffee stains.
“I'll...” Dylan motioned towards the corridor and stepped out of the bathroom, squatted down, and wiped up the spilled beverage. He gathered the soiled towels and re-entered the bathroom, then stopped short, his feet turning to lead. Fuck. The doctor had removed his coat and now stood before the mirror, his shirt unbuttoned and open as he wiped his chest with a damp paper towel.
Dylan's breath labored as his eyes glued to the man's image in the mirror. A notable pulse thumped in his crotch, and he felt himself swelling up thick and oh so hard. He could hear his own breath rushing through his nostrils and realized, suddenly, that Goodman could, too. Before he could think to try and control it, the man caught his stare in the mirror. Don't stare! Look away. But he couldn't drag his eyes from the doctor's exposed chest; well-tanned and nicely muscled.
“You all right?” Goodman asked low, that amused tone to his voice and the same amusement in his crooked smile and blue/gray eyes.
For a moment, Dylan couldn't speak, his throat knotted tight. “I...” But nothing else came out.
The corner of Goodman's mouth tugged and twitched, and he looked down, turning off the water. “Close the door,” he murmured.
Dylan wasn't sure he heard him right. “Huh?”
The man turned around and leaned against the sink, his hands loosely gripping the porcelain. “Close the door.”
Dylan's gaze swept down the doctor's chest and stomach, and a little lower, certain he must be imagining the sizable bulge of the man's crotch. His foot slid back and slowly knocked the door closed.
“Why don't you get rid of those?”
Dylan glanced down and realized he was still holding the soiled towels. “Oh... yeah.” He walked over and dumped the towels in the trashcan next to the sink, then stood unmoving, unsure of just what was happening. He sensed the man move, then his hand was on Dylan's arm, drawing him around and pushing him gently back. Dylan grabbed the sink as Goodman had been doing a moment ago, his breath erratic as the doctor gripped the porcelain on each side of him, his hands brushing against Dylan's.
“I've... noticed you,” Goodman whispered, his body nearly touching Dylan as his mouth hovered oh so close to the young man’s lips. “...noticing me.”
