A creature was floating atop the waves of the sea, limp and broken.
Another creature was floating in the sea, underneath the other, though this one was lively and awake.
The creature, who's seal-like skin caught the glow of the moon, peeked her head out from the depths of the ocean, placing webbed appendages upon the bulkier creature. Pushing the other, propelled by a strong push of the tail and kicks of the hind legs, the sea-creature made her way to dry land.
As the creature brought the other to rest upon the dry sand, she sighed, pulling herself onto the sand as well. She placed her paws on the other's chest, pushing down, hard, in order to force the water out of their lungs.
After a few pushes, the salty water gushed from their mouth and they shot up, sending the sea dragon back by a few feet.
"Holy shit!" The once water-filled dragon gasped, coughing and hacking up the last drops of sea, "How the hell did I get in there!?"
Their voice held a accent that was unfamiliar to the sea dragon, though most accents would be, as she hadn't ventured out of the sea in her life.
"I dunno," She replied, "You came hurtling from that cliff up there, screeching something terrible."
"Aye," Said the other, rising to stand, though they stumbled a bit. Looking at their hind legs, or rather, leg, "Dammit, you wouldn't've happened to see a metal leg anywhere, would you?"
The younger dragon nodded, for in fact she had seen a leg. She turned, shouting over her shoulder that she'd be back in a second. Clumsily sprinting into the ocean, she disappeared into the expanse of water. The land dragon raised an arm to paw at the antlers upon his head, examining the damage to them. One was exceptionally broken, half the length and size of the other.
"Ffffuck." Growled the brown dragon, looking at their tail, which was surprisingly not broken. They waggled it, the yellow sac on the end bouncing healthily. He sighed, at least one thing was going for him.
The sea dragon now bounded back from the sea, something large and metal clasped in between her webbed claws. She presented the object to the dragon, which now presented itself as the leg. Gratefully, the heavy dragon nodded, fixing the prosthetic onto the nub of leg on their hindquarters.
"Thanks, kiddo."
"Name's not kiddo! Name's Bottlecap!"
"Eh? Bottlecap? Unique, I could say."
The sea creature nodded, droplets of water splashing onto the other's muzzle and dribbled slowly down their face.
"And I'm Lowe. Nice to meet ya."
"Mhm!" Nodded Bottlecap, the frills on her jaw shaking excitedly. Her hind legs stamped up and down, her hips wriggling and her long tail wagging in a way that was alike to a dog's.
"So, kiddo, how do I get back up there?" Asked Lowe, nodding to the tip of the cliff they had supposedly been launched off of.
"Er... climb?" Said she in response, also tilting her head to look up at the cliff. She pranced over to the cliff-wall, smoothed by years of being hit by water. She gripped a ledge, heaving her sleek body up, gripping another and lifting herself again. Lowe watched, and with a sigh, followed Bottlecap's lead.
