Introduction
The shadow of fluffy dark clouds fills the sky. The drizzle of rain comes soon after. The grass whips around like a flag in the wind. A person with a saturated-yellow raincoat appears in a flash, standing in the sky. His feet are supported by raindrops. His head tilted towards the ground, and his hands clenched.
The raincoat hood sways in the wind, always moving yet still unable to reveal the face hidden in the shadows of the hood. Inside the town below, birds flock in a beautiful pattern, people hide inside buildings mimicking foxes in their burrows, and the man in the raincoat remains there like a stone statue.
"Why does this feel like all my effort is nothing but in vain?"
His baritone voice rings out, muffled and dampened by the rain.
Suddenly, a bird flies up and chirps and lands on his shoulder. The bird's multicoloured feathers light up the drab surroundings. The man with the yellow raincoat speaks up in his muffled voice.
"Bertly, you always value me..."
He grips his hood to stop it from falling.
"I know they are always thanking me... but it feels shallow."
He looks off into the distance while the rain starts to calm down.
"Oh... the rain is going to stop soon."
He quickly falls towards the city; the raindrops cushion his fall. The drizzle soon ends as his control slips; the raindrops start to soak his underside.
"Well, that's the rain over, all good things must come to an end."
He starts to pat himself down as Bertly nudges his neck and points towards a quaint cafe.
"Heh, we do need a break; we've been traveling since dawn... good job, Bertly."
He pats Bertly. They quickly scurry towards the cafe, checking if anyone is inside.
"Huh... no one here, I think it's fine for us to rest here."
They sit down with their wet clothes clinging to their skin, seeking a moment of rest.
"Well, Bertly, we should get some rest."
Bertly quickly nestles inside his hood for the warmth. The man in the yellow raincoat's eyes start to get heavier.
"I'm... just getting some shut-eye."
