Elemental Dragon (Volume I)

Elemental Dragon (Volume I) Prologue: The Beginning

Elemental Dragon (Volume I) Prologue: The Beginning

Jan 19, 2026

A long time ago, there was an event that marked the history of the Elemental World forever.

In those times, there were settlements with very small populations scattered throughout the Elemental World. The people of this land possess the ability to wield a local energy that manifests as the capacity to control a single element, among which are Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire.

These communities had their own hierarchies and a group of sages known as “the Council of Mayors,” who served as the political representatives of the different settlements.

These leading representatives, during a formal meeting, made the decision to separate the villages. There had been a time when the population of each of these groups increased drastically, and conflicts and territorial disputes began to arise. To prevent further escalation, they decided to divide the people into four large groups.

With that decision, they agreed to forge four great settlements composed of individuals who wielded the same flow of Element-Energy (the name of the vital energy used to manipulate elements in the Elemental World).

Thus, groups that shared an affinity for the same elemental nature formed single communities, separating themselves specifically according to their respective elements.

The four Mayors parted ways to become the political leaders of their corresponding groups. They agreed to establish the settlements at the four cardinal points, at great distances from one another: the people of the Wind element moved west, those of Fire went north, those of Earth headed south, and those of Water traveled east.

After this division, more years passed, and these settlements emerged as the four great Powers of the Elemental World that still endure to this day.

The Wind Nation to the West, the Fire Nation to the North, the Earth Nation to the South, and the Water Nation to the East. The latter settled on a massive island, far from the continental territories, in the middle of the ocean.

The development of the Nations was slow during these formative stages.

Some communities chose not to join any group, and because of this, there are still settlements and clans scattered across the central regions of the Elemental World. These remained as large families and independent clans who chose to preserve the original traditions and refused to become part of the Mayors’ proposal.

The Elemental World continued to be shaped by the humans who inhabited it, but then an event occurred that changed their lives forever.

From one night to the next, countless strange beings appeared, enormous in size.

All of these creatures wore armor, their entire bodies covered in hardened plating. Some were winged, with two or more than six wings. Others possessed four to more than six limbs, and they all wore masks made of an extremely strange material, adorned with varied designs, through which only the openings revealing their glowing eyes and black sclerae could be seen.

These monsters, astonishing in size, were not violent, but they clearly did not belong to the original fauna of the Elemental World.

The beings were nicknamed “Dragons,” due to the fact that one of them bore peculiar written characters on one of its lower limbs, as if the markings were damage to the armor it wore as skin. These symbols resembled scars forming a word that could be read as “dragon.”

These beasts also manipulated Element-Energy. That is, each dragon could control a specific element, just like the other creatures that make up the fauna of the Elemental World.

People observed that they were not aggressive beasts and that they attempted to adapt to their surroundings. However, all of these creatures suffered from an immense thirst for water, which they consumed in great quantities every day.

The problem began when a particular settlement, a clan that had refused to join any of the world’s powers, known as the Dihamanty, made a discovery. The Dihamanty are humans capable of controlling a natural element along with a material element: diamond. This clan specializes in scientific studies and is composed of experts in soil analysis. They were able to predict a terrible event that had been forming, one that had not been evident until a certain point.

It was the threat of a massive, global drought.

The dragons fed primarily on fresh water, although it had also been observed that they found salt water to their liking. Given their immense size, they required enormous quantities of water each day to remain hydrated. As a result, every living being began to suffer from the growing lack of water resources.

People grew increasingly concerned, and the leaders of that era agreed to hold an emergency meeting to unify their criteria and take action against this imminent danger.

The meeting quickly became a disaster. The advisors could not reach an agreement, and the Emperors saw no clear solution. Fighting these beasts was extremely difficult, considering their colossal size and their mastery of Element-Energy. On top of that, their bodies were covered in thick, abundant armor, which made injuring them in combat exceptionally challenging.

The emergency meeting was interrupted by an elderly sage. He wore green robes and fabrics across his torso bearing the symbol of his people. He presented himself proudly before the four Emperors, the leaders of the Nations, and their respective advisors.

“We have a solution, Emperors,” the old man declared confidently.

“Who are you?” shouted the Emperor of Earth in opposition.

“I come as a representative of the Dihamanty clan, Emperor of Earth. We have found a solution to this problem.”

“Please, take a seat with us,” said the Emperor of Wind, inviting the elder to join them.

“We have captured one of these dragons using our material element, diamond. Only the diamond of our clan can pierce the hardened armor these beings possess. Yes, we managed to kill this creature, and we discovered that they are materialized energy. Their organic composition is made entirely of elemental energy, so when their armor is shattered and their skin pierced, their blood evaporates and their plating vanishes. The dragon we captured naturally manipulated Fire Element-Energy, and upon dying, its body combusted, disappearing in flames,” the elder explained.

Those present were stunned by this revelation regarding the energetic nature of the beasts.

“We have no more time. If these creatures continue consuming water, they will wipe out all life,” he warned.

“What do you propose we do?” asked the Emperor of Fire, his voice filled with anxiety.

At that moment, countless explosions and thunderous impacts echoed around the area where the meeting was taking place. They were inside a fortress of elemental energy, and the structure began to tremble as debris started to fall.

What was happening was a clear sign that some of the beasts had already begun to show aggression.

“Our objective is to create four Elemental Diamonds. Their purpose will be to absorb these creatures through an energy seal, so that we do not have to kill them one by one.”

“Why four diamonds and not just one?” asked the Emperor of Earth.

“Four diamonds, each one attuned to a specific Element-Energy, capable of containing the immense power of so many creatures that appeared out of nowhere. One diamond for each element,” the elder explained.

“How long will it take?” asked another Emperor.

“Four months. One month for each sealed diamond. Until then, humanity must endure this war.”

Everyone present was left speechless, unable to envision how they could survive that long with such limited resources.

Outside the fortress, the sounds of the first battles could already be heard. The long war between humans and dragons had begun.

During those four months, the entire Elemental World dried out even further.

Obtaining food and water became absolute priorities, all while having to fight these beasts. A great number of people and native animals perished, not only as a direct result of the conflict, but also due to hunger and dehydration.

It was thanks to the strength of the Dihamanty clan, who with their second material element, diamond, were able to confront these creatures and serve a defensive and protective role for the entire world.

At last, the four months came to an end, and the Dihamanty revealed the four Elemental Diamonds.

They created a green diamond for Wind, a red one for Fire, a brown one to represent Earth, and a light blue one for Water, each designed to absorb the energy of the corresponding beasts.

It should be clarified that while one of these relics was being produced, it was already being used against the beasts whose element matched that of the diamond.

It is unknown how long the process lasted until the final beast was sealed.

Ninety percent of the Dihamanty population died, both in the war and in the creation of these sealing artifacts for the great beings.

The Dihamanty clan was regarded as heroic for their efforts. They essentially saved humanity and the future of all generations to come.

Once the diamonds fulfilled their purpose, they were sealed inside special black containers and taken to their respective Nations, where each Emperor carried one relic to their corresponding cardinal point.

As the years passed, the Nations reestablished themselves and returned stronger than they had been before the war against the Dragons. The leaders discovered that the diamonds, which still contained those beings within them, transferred a special energy when touched with bare hands by someone of a matching element. This energy granted increased elemental power to the individual.

Upon learning this, the Nations began to see great potential in these relics and decided to use them as a source of military power as well.

It was because of this event that martial arts became relevant, as they were combined with the use of Elemental Energy. Many people across the world now aspired to become stronger and to join military ranks, driven by the ideal of obtaining additional power through one of the dragons sealed within a diamond.

Thus, more generations passed until the present day, when the true story begins, specifically in the Nation of the West, also known as the Elemental Nation of Wind.
