Elydea: Woven Star

Bound by Intrigue

Bound by Intrigue

Jun 28, 2025

My eyes opened, I was in the middle of a garden, a gray garden. It was strange, the plants, the doors, the outside… it was all washed out. When I tried to leave the garden, I couldn’t open the door to the outside. I wondered who locked the door, I tried to knock on the windows, but they didn’t seem to budge in any way.

I looked around for any clues that could help, but I only found some gardening tools

A long shovel used for digging, a few rakes for gathering the autumn leaves, and wheelbarrows set aside for transporting materials.

I had a weird feeling about the tools, but I wasn't sure about it.

I tried to grab around my own body but I couldn’t, my hands would phase through me as if I wasn’t even real. My hair was weird, it was purple and split blue on the right side, I also have a small bow on my hair.

It felt like I hadn’t eaten in a while, my body was really thin. I didn’t remember a single thing about myself, it’s strange. It felt like this body didn't belong to me. Why did I dye my hair this way? Why did I feel like including a bow?

I also had some sort of suit uniform, it was a pretty regular black suit. Do girls wear suits? I’m not sure. I don’t even know where I am.

The main issue is how do I get out of here? I couldn't see much outside this garden, I couldn't open the doors… I didn't feel strong enough to use the tools I had right now. The windows are pretty strong, unlike any other glass I’ve seen before.

But there was one thing I knew.

Someone definitely takes care of this garden, maybe not even just one person, maybe there are multiple taking care of this garden. Planting the seeds, constantly watering them as they grow, and maintaining their growth before they eventually pass. At some point, they’ll arrive. And they’ll get me out of this garden.

So, I decided to wait.

I felt hungry, I felt thirsty as well… unlike those plants, I didn't feel maintained. I felt like I was just thrown here, and it wasn't adding up. Why would I be thrown in a garden?

I felt a little tired so I laid back down on the side waiting for the gardeners who’d eventually save me. I felt fatigued, but I decided that I'd be okay. I’d just wait here, I’d wait as long as I needed to.

But then I had woken up, running away from some shadow. Some sort of dark figure I couldn’t recognize. It was tall, it ran fast toward my direction, and it wanted to kill me. I knew it wanted to kill me.

I couldn’t run anymore, I haven’t had food in days, and I didn't remember the last time I had water. I stopped, I stopped running, I couldn’t outrun it anymore.

That’s when I…

“I woke up.”

On her lap you were, the warmth of her bare skin and the smooth fabric next to her thighs created a pocket wonderful for your head to rest on. She was a stranger, and a peculiar stranger. Her hands slowly moved through your hair, her eyes locked toward yours — she spoke words you couldn’t understand.

“Oh my? Have I woken you up dear?”

Your body flew from her lap, your awkward stare told a story. A slight fluster, eyes looking the other direction, and playful hand gestures. “Your dreams are safe with me. It’s okay to rest whenever you desire,” she said.

The tone of her voice comforted your ear, it felt familiar, full of love, yet lacking a display of emotion. Her eyes held their position, watching your every move, enamored in your appearance.

“I held your hand every step of the way to make sure you weren’t lost.”

Her pointy white heels tapped the floor every step she made, her hips swayed gracefully as her lengthy golden hair did. She stood up from the sofa and walked toward the dance floor, her hand gestured for you to move in with her.

You grabbed onto the white gloves she masked her hands with, you followed her technique as she initiated movement. “In this place, the passion flowing in your heart is quite important. One step and the routine could fall apart,” she placed her hand on your chest for a moment. “What is physically present here is only but a speck of what you truly want to be.”

Her leg crossed between yours, her mouth approached your ear. “Your mind is in complete disarray, your disheveled clothes are the only remnants of your past self — This world will not be kind to you, there will be loss, there will be fear.”

“As long as you’re aware of these things, I believe your heart can overcome them. Your mind may reciprocate a different way, but you must learn to follow your heart at times. Just as you’re doing now, following my steps, directing your gaze toward me.”

She stepped back and continued to direct your movement, only now were you truly capable of viewing the true extent of her beauty. Her spiral shaped golden eyes, her pale skin, the way her body complimented her short gold and white dress, the many jewels it carried.

“So… I woke up here, on your lap? How did you find me? What… happened to me? Do you know my name? Who are you?”

Her hand slowly caressed your back, each step she made slowly followed a more complicated rhythm, your body lacked the flexibility to keep up with her, it was only a matter of time before it all collapsed.

“Your name is Amelia. As for the rest, all questions will be answered with time. Who you are and what you want will become clear with time. Of course, I’ll always be by your side.”

You leaned back as her body pressed against yours, her lips carefully leaving a mark of departure on your cheek. Fine red lipstick, warmth of a thousand years, and a weirdly shaped card left in your pocket.

You were left all alone in the middle of the ballroom. The place was elegant, a lot of the materials were coated in gold, the people wore expensive clothing items and jewelry, and the drinks on the menu were definitely a pretty penny.

“You! SHE kissed you! What the hell!”

Your eyes immediately darted different directions trying to locate the voice. But you couldn’t see anyone directly talking to you. Maybe if you looked down? Oh, that worked. That small girl just below is staring at you, talk to her or something.

“I… didn’t even ask for a kiss, although I won't deny... It was a little nice,” you said, while clearly blushing. “I just woke up here and she told me some stuff I couldn’t even decipher. I didn't even have time to react, or respond with something.”

She had short dark red hair, bags under her eyes clearly indicating a lack of sleep, an over-sized lab coat covering nearly all of her petite body, and some black boots that were also too big for her size. “That’s how she normally is. I… I wouldn’t pay mind. When she went to my medical trials once, she became a frog, and I know my science very well to know I did NOT turn her into a frog. Wait! Why did SHE kiss you!? And! How do her lips... feel? Uhm...”

“As I just said, I DON’T KNOW. She told me some vague things about this place, left a card with me, and disappeared. She's... a wildly mysterious woman,” you sighed very loudly after explaining yourself once again. You started scratching your head trying to make any sense of this whole day.

You handed her the card she gave you, it had writing on it, and a weird crystal symbol attached at the top. It looked pretty similar to those cards your friends would give you on your birthday.

“♡(>ᴗ•)  I’ll be waiting for you at Pinnacle Street. Best wishes dear.”

“Huh!? Pinnacle Street!? Is this a date!? With Cirseille!? I’ll have to conduct a ground test to see if this is true. Do you… Can I go with you?” she covered her mouth with both hands, her stare screamed perplexed, she couldn’t believe what she was reading.

“Well… I don’t even know where I am. So I guess, you can lead me there? Uh, what’s your name though? Mine is Amelia. That's literally all I know about what's going on.”

She was already walking toward the exit of the ballroom before you even finished what you were saying. “What are you waiting for!? Science doesn't wait! My name is Vivi, that’s all that matters. Come on, hurry.”
