How does one start a story about themselves, do I tell you it's a story of pain and love, heartbreak and sorrow and do I simply just tell you it was a long time ago.
Regardless of what way I tell it, it always ends the same. For this is what happened when I, Cupid, fell in love.

I woke up ready to start my day. Coffee followed, I might be a God but hell so was coffee in my world. One simply does not make soulmates with the absence of coffee. Could you imagine if I just shot any Bob, Phil or Joe to start a relationship? It would be such a mess. I knew there would be a stack of folders from guardian gods for relationships for their clients. Getting dressed I slipped on some tight black joggers and a tank top. I snapped my fingers and I was at work, Getting into the lift I was greeted.
"Good morning Mr Cupid."
"Thank you and likewise."
My desk was on its own floor away from others, I wasn't allowed to be around other gods because my job was important and required quiet. Let's face it when gods and goddesses got together we talked and talked and talked. the biggest reason, however, was so that other gods and goddesses couldn't sway my judgement and decisions based on who or what their client wanted. My floor was dark and cool, Just the way I liked it.
Looking at the pile on my desk was three times bigger then it was normal but that was always the case after holidays. The folders were a crisp red as were all my floor folders, however, a gold and red folder sat beside the pile. This was a Gods/Goddesses folder. Once a year the higher-ups would recommend I help some of the Gods/Goddesses who were having some issues finding our own soulmates.
Setting that folder farther away I looked into all the folders on my desk. A few of the folders were ones I had seen before, those were the ones I would deal with first. Fieldwork was my favourite part of the job. Opening the first repeat file I looked over the sheet.
Name: Alice Marie
Age: 27
details:
Alice likes both men and women but would be best suited for women since they don't make her nervous. She enjoys outdooring living and learning. Her best match is someone who enjoys the same things she enjoys. If I could put a note in for her to be paired with anyone I would say Jess Anderson is her ideal match.
I gritted my teeth and remembered why I didn't get this case done sooner. The god that ran this women's case was a complete ass who didn't believe in love. He was in no way fit to be a guardian but he knew that. The only reason he was one was that we had a shortage and we needed another god. He happened to be the next choice. At some point, I would have to meet with him and find out more details about Alice.
Snapping my fingers I appeared in a coffee shop. She worked her, this much I knew. Staying cloaked I watched her for a bit. I was aware of her god's presence but he didn't say anything or even introduce himself. I knew very little about him as well, but what I did know was that he rolled with Hades, and for me, that spelt bad news. He was a paperboy of Hades. A reaper if you choose to call him that.
Snapping my fingers I went to my office, I would continue my work when he wasn't watching me over my shoulder. The red and gold folder caught my attention. I snagged it off the desk before going to flop on the couch in the very back of my whole floor.
Opening the folder I nearly passed out. There he was in my folder.
