My name is Suzanne Carlina de la Morena, but I go by Suzy, anyone that knows me will say that I love routine, wake up in the morning to take a quick cold shower before hailing a ride share to begin the usual grind at work which consist of calling a bunch of people defaulting on their credit card payment. Same old thing and the cycle repeats itself all over again.

This day was like any other, I went out to grab a cup of coffee from the café downstair and on my way up some ignoramus decided to get a kick out of leaving a spill behind. You all know how heels and wet surfaces do not go together but I leave it up to your imagination as you could guess I was on my phone looking at my Fakebook messages when I lost my bearing and fell.

My fall came at such bad timing when the serviceman with ladder and all chose that time to be coming up the stairs. The last thing I heard was a terrified shout telling me to watch out before everything turned black.

[Ding! Fabulous Makeup System loading...]

I hear a chime from a distance with some robotic voice that sounded like those of a female. I can hardly understand what the voice is saying.

“Am I dead? Where is the angel to welcome me home?”

The voice intensified much to my dismay as I heard my personal detail being read out.

“Excuse me, who the….are you? Like, do I know you? Hello!”

[You can call me Ranora, I am the brain behind Fabulous Makeup System. Think of it as a VR game where you will learn to become a PMA.]

“I am not following you, Am I not dead? Why will a dead person be interested in playing games and by the way I do not use makeup, so you are talking to the wrong person here.”

[Suzan…]

“Call me Suzy, easy-peasy no sweating that.”

[Suzy, you are considered dead by human standards and to be reborn you must complete missions with Fabulous Makeup System. Failure to meet mission goals will lead to dire consequences.]

I hear this cold robotic voice dictating how I should progress with whatever was left of my life or lack of and in that moment, I knew with clarity that if I turn down this chance to redeem myself then there would be no going back to the world of the living.

“Okay, I accept.”

So, as you can guess, this is how I signed my life away to be bound to the Fabulous Makeup System.
