I am a Trout. I will always be stuck as this Trout that I am. I will never change. When I was born 3 years ago, I was the pride of my family, the joy of my fish. The enjoyement my fish brethren contained when seeing me was indescribable.
However, it all faded over time as I became the only one of my kind left, confined in this vast lake with other species that come to pick on me. My upbringing became difficult as the people who once were here to guide my path died one by one; first, my father, then my relatives, then my dearest mother, and finally the rest of my kind.
Everyone has disappeared. Do I know why? No. Do I want to? Maybe I do. But, I do not have a clear enough answer for some odd reason.
My little self swam around in the water. My name is Fin and I have a job that I can only do. This is because I have a specific trait for it. This makes me feel special in a sense, but also it converts my time from just swimming around by myself away from other fish, -as I am treated as an outcast- to just idly waiting for time to pass so that I can do my job as it consumed more energy each day through its repetitive workload and toll it has placed on me.
Something caught my eyes and I looked to my right to see multiple fish swimming around. I felt the familiar tormenting feeling of sadness creeping on my heart. A bubble plopped out my mouth. I wish I could also be apart of that shoal instead of being Isolated to this degree, no one around except for myself.
I carried on with my usual lonely swim, knowing I could never fit in with the others.
However, it wasn't long till my swim was quickly interrupted due to a disturbance. I turned around to where the sound was coming from, my small body created a gentle wave that quickly dispersed.
My eyes fitted up to the trio of kids and I stared in long confusion. Why would they come here to this out of place lake? I watched them in suspicion from the dark shadows of the water as they seemed to throw some type of green semi-circular object into the water. It broke the surface, creating a forceful wave that washed over me with great force, hurling me back.
Following my confusion, I heard the swoosh of a body behind which had caused me to reflexively snap around. "Who's there?" I asked the unknown.
Looking to what was before behind me, now infront of me, coming out of the dark blue water were Silly Salmon and his
pals.
