"Clothes, Hair, heels, make-up, okay you're done Ayah," said the stylist as she moved on to the next model. leaning back in my seat, I take a deep breath and stare at the makeshift ceiling. Being a model has always been a hard career for most people but as I sit here waiting for my name to be called, it makes it all worth it. Tonight is the night I get my first break in years. I finally got a contract with a luxury brand by the name ~Zalya~  and don't get me wrong, I couldn't be more proud of myself but there was just something felt off with tonight.

 "Ayah! What are you doing sitting around, get in line and please keep in mind that you're the one closing the show so go out there and show them why you're getting this contract." Said Jaden, my manager.

 Sighing, I get up from my seat and head to the line-up, and it's not like I hate getting reminded of my win tonight but if looks could kill, counting by the number of glares I'm getting, I would be more than dead. 

Ignoring the sudden aura in the room I moved toward the stairs, putting my game face on. It didn't matter how many times I walked on the runway or a red carpet, I would always get stage fright and butterflies in my stomach.

As I did my walk toward the front, I couldn't help but give myself a mental pat on the back. After all I had been through I was finally getting my big break. Turning, I brushed paths with a woman who was the designer, coming out for the bow, seeing as they did this all the time after a show, I didn't think much of it. She was dressed in mom jeans, a white shirt paired with ankle-strapped heels, and had her hair in a low bun. Which didn't sit right with me cause she looked nothing like her designs which were royalty-themed and had some powerful aura in them.

when I got back to the backstage, I headed straight to my changing desk.

"Don't even think of leaving just yet we have a packed night and it's just getting started" Jaden said as he sat next to me with a tablet in his hands. "Change into this," he says, throwing me a cobalt-blue dress that seemed to be backless and a pair of jet-black heels "After this you have that meeting I talked about and then later you're to attend the after-party to announce the contract" I mentally groaned at the mention of an after party, Those things were a menace to society, they usually go on for hours and there were so many of them that if you partied hard enough you'd wake up at eight pm the following day on the other side of the country.

 Snap! Snap! "Hey, pay attention, this is important stuff I'm talking about," Jaiden says, pulling me out of my daydream. "Change quickly I'll be back in ten minutes to get you." He picks up his tablet and leaves.

 I got changed and sat down, waiting for a stylist to come do my hair, after I was done I sat back and fished my phone from my bag, and unlocked it then went to my file app, looking for a certain one sent by Jaden. Okay so maybe the contract that seems to be the only thing everyone is talking about hasn't even been seen by the person who's supposed to be signing it. This might look like I'm lazy( I'm not) I was to get around reading it but it's been such a busy week and last night, Coco ( my best friend, who's barely ever around ) came home for a visit and I kinda forgot about reading the contract. 

" Why are you just sitting there, I told you were in a time crunch here, the meeting is about to start. Come on Ayah, please,  please don't do this to me, not tonight."  Jayden says, his eyes so wide they look like they're gonna pop out. 

Feeling guilty and mad about his bad timing, I get up from the chair and follow him out of the changing room.

 I understood how this was a stressful night. I am the first model under him to get a contract as big as this and it is a rebranding moment for not only me but also for him, mentioning to him that I didn't get around to reading the contract isn't a thing I'm gonna do so it looks like I'm gonna wing it.

" The major stuff in the contract has already been discussed with the Lawyers so you're only to discuss the events following tonight and you're new career as the face of ~Zalya~."

I trail behind him through a thin hallway and stop in front of a door of a makeshift room. Turning around to face me, Jaden catches whatever facial expression I was wearing.

" You didn't read the contract did you?" he asks then before I can answer, he puts his hands up "You know what, don't answer that just get in there, and I'll deal with this and you later. As I said the major stuff has already been discussed, okay? so just get through this with no fuck ups and I mean it, Ayah" Jaden says as he sits on a chair directly across the door "I'll be right here when you get back. I swear one of these days you're gonna be the death of me" 

I smile shyly at Jaden then turn to face the door, I knock thrice and take a deep breath "Come in" a voice from the other side says.

Touching the doorknob, I twist it open the door and walk in.
