The night was cold and gloomy, a lone figure could be seen walking through the forest, teeth chattering even with his attempts to warm himself. The wind howled through the trees, creating an eerie atmosphere. He felt as though someone was watching him. He could feel their eyes penetrating his figure. He looked around several times but saw nothing, his body became tense.
This was the first time he had been out this late. Usually, it would only take him a few hours to run errands for his father, but for some reason, he decided to send him out later than usual. His hands began to shake, barely able to hold onto the lantern, with his heartbeat becoming more erratic with every aching second that went by. Suddenly he heard the sound of a twig snapping through the forest causing him to freeze in place.
"I-Is a-any bo-body there?" He stuttered into the darkness, voice wavering with every word becoming softer at the end. No one is ever out here at night.....except for monsters. Maybe it was just my paranoia getting the best of me, he thought. "Just keep moving, you'll find somewhere safe soon." He whispered to himself trying to calm down. The forest is too dangerous for someone to be walking through at night. Everyone knew this, but he wasn't out here by choice, and neither was it his first time.
"What...are you doing...walking through the forest...at night?" He heard a deep voice hiss in question. It sounded as if they barely spoke by how the spoke between pauses. Turning around to see who it was he found no one.
"W-Who's there?" He asked shakily. Was it a vampire, here to bleed me dry? He was terrified at that thought. He didn't want to die like this. Suddenly he felt something on his neck as if someone were standing there breathing on him. Turning around to see who it was he saw no one. A chill ran down his spine, he could sense that whatever it was they were toying with him. That just made him even more afraid.
He sprinted forward trying to get away from whatever it was that was behind him. He knew that the creature is fast but there was still a bit of hope in him that he may get away safely. As minuscule as the possibility was he still tried. But alas his hopes drew failure as he was tripped by the creature's tail before he even made it five feet away. The fall further aggravated the wounds on his already bruised body causing a whimper to leave him.
