For over 400 years, the Virean Empire has ruled much of the known continent, born from bloodshed, bound by steel, and gilded in noble tradition.
It was founded by Emperor Calros Virean, a warlord who united warring kingdoms under a single banner through brutal conquest and political marriages. To maintain peace, he established the Noble Houses and the Order of Knights, sworn to defend the empire’s core values: loyalty, discipline, and order.
For generations, the empire thrived—but beneath the surface, rot took hold. As emperors became ceremonial rulers, great houses began vying for control. Noble bloodlines became more important than honor. The knightly orders, once protectors of justice, became tools of the powerful.
In recent decades, internal strife, corruption, and rebellion weakened the borders. One such rebellion in the south was crushed by Serelith’s father—earning him favor but deepening the empire’s cruelty.
Now, the empire stands on a fragile edge. Reformers whisper of change. Traditionalists tighten their grip.
Serelith rises into this conflict—carrying her grandfather’s quiet wisdom, her mother’s forgotten strength, and a blade sharpened by suffering.
Serelith, the daughter of a count, had an abusive life. Losing her mother at a young age, she never got what she always wanted. Even though her life was a mess, she didn’t give up and joined the Order of Knights. After working for years, she plans for a peaceful retirement. Will she be able to enjoy a peaceful retirement, or will she get entangled in a relationship?
