Nebula Vertu is one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy. She is a woman of few words, a master of military tactics, and a deadly shot with her blaster. She works alone, taking only the jobs that pay well and promise a challenge. She is an antihero, a lone wolf, and she likes it that way.
Her latest job had taken her to the backwater planet Verdanth Prime, located on the edge of the Outer Rim, a place so rough it made the asteroid belt seem like a vacation spot. Her target was a notorious smuggler named Nyx Umbra, who had been causing trouble for the local authorities. Nebula had been hired by a group of wealthy merchants who had been victimised by Umbra's piracy.
Nebula tracked Umbra to a seedy cantina on the outskirts of town. She slipped inside, blending in with the crowd of roughnecks and smugglers. She scanned the room, looking for her target. She spotted him at the bar—a tall, lanky man with greasy hair and a cocky grin. He had a scar running down the side of his left cheek, which was how she was able to identify him from the description she got from the merchants. Scanning him, she could see he was well armed; a vibroblade and ion cannon hung on either hip.
Nebula approached him, keeping her hand on her blaster. "Umbra," she said, her voice low and menacing. "We need to talk."
Umbra laughed in her face. "I don't think so, sweetheart. I don't have anything to say to you."
Nebula leaned in close, her blaster at the ready. "I think you do. You see, I'm here to collect a bounty on your head. And if you don't come quietly, things are going to get messy."
Umbra's expression turned serious. "You're making a mistake, lady. I don't know who hired you, but I'm not the guy you want. I've been framed."
Nebula didn't believe him, but she knew better than to let her guard down. She kept her blaster at the ready and prepared to make her move.
Suddenly, a squadron of Dread soldiers burst into the cantina. They were led by a menacing, towering figure in black armour, standing well over six feet tall with a muscular and imposing build. They were wielding a glowing red ionic blade. Nebula recognised him as a Dread Lieutenant, a dangerous adversary even for a seasoned bounty hunter like herself.
The Dread Army's soldiers wore dark, menacing armour that served both as protection and as a symbol of their allegiance to the organisation. Their weapons were often customised and modified to suit their needs, and their tactics were ruthless and unyielding. They used advanced technology and military strategy to conquer and subjugate entire star systems, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.
The Dread Lieutenant strode over to Umbra, who was cowering in fear. "You have something that belongs to me," he said, his voice cold and menacing.
Umbra trembled. "I don't know what you're talking about."
The Dread Lieutenant raised his ionic blade, ready to strike. Nebula knew that she had to act fast. She drew her plasma blaster and fired a shot at the Dread Lieutenant. It struck him in the chest, knocking him back.
Nebula grabbed Umbra by the arm and pulled him towards the exit. The cantina erupted into chaos as blaster fire rang out, sending patrons diving for cover and tables flying in all directions. Nebula and Umbra fought their way through the crowd, dodging bolts being fired by the Dread soldiers who were tactically well trained.
As the Dread soldiers closed in, they were suddenly pinned down, and Nebula knew they had to act fast. With a swift movement, she pulled out a concussion grenade from her utility belt and activated it, tossing it towards the incoming soldiers. The grenade exploded with a blinding flash of light and a deafening roar, creating a powerful shockwave that rocked the cantina.
This distraction allowed them to make it back to Nebula's ship, a sleek and fast vessel designed for both speed and combat agility. The ship's exterior is predominantly black, with silver accents and blue LED lights that add a touch of style and practicality.
Nebula activated the ramp, and they dashed inside. The ship's cockpit was spacious and well-equipped, with state-of-the-art controls and displays that allowed Nebula to easily navigate through space and engage in combat. The cockpit featured a custom-designed seat that conforms to Nebula's body, providing her with maximum comfort and control.
She jumped into the seat, strapped herself in, then powered up the engines and lifted off, just as the Dread Lieutenant and his squad burst through the cantina doors.
The ship's weapons consisted of mounted swivelling turrets, allowing Nebula to engage multiple targets at once. The weapons also included quad laser cannons, proton torpedoes, and concussion missiles, providing her with a range of deadly options for taking down her enemies.
These were not necessary this time, as Nebula and Umbra soared into space, leaving the planet far behind. Nebula turned to Umbra, her expression stern. "You better start talking, Umbra. Why is the Galactic Imperium sending a death squadron after you, and why?"
Umbra hesitated, but then he realised that he had no choice. "It's a long story," he said. "But if you help me, I'll make it worth your while."
Nebula considered his offer. She was always up for a challenge, and the promise of a big payout was too tempting to ignore, as she needed the stellar shards to fund her own vendetta against the Galactic Imperium.
