Once upon a time, there lived a Maiden who had a great potential for magic.
The Maiden was born in a family of farmers, where her gift would remain undiscovered for quite some time.
The Maiden, named Elesia, lived a pretty normal life, experiencing a wonderful childhood. She learned how to read and write, played with other children, went exploring with her friends, got scolded by adults, possibly gaining the affection of a few boys (and girls).
She grew up to be a beautiful young lady, and would have probably settled down and married one of the men pining for her affection.
….Yes, that should have been the case.
One day, an old noble went around town. The townsfolk tried to avoid him due to rumors floating about him. Elesia, unfortunately, was not informed and caught the eye of the old man as she passed by him.
That “noble” had his men abduct her and brought her to the nearest inn where she would have been defiled by him.
Elesia didn’t understand what was happening. She had never been in this situation before, and didn’t know what to do. She tried to fight back, to escape. Her friends, who learned of her abduction, tried to help her, but the knights were too strong for them. She was bound on the bed, and as the noble caressed her, she became increasingly distraught. She felt her life flashing right before her eyes….
And that was when everything went from bad to worse.
Her untapped magic potential exploded in response to her emotions, obliterating everything around her.
Her friends…
Her family…
Her hometown…
Gone, just like that.
As she opened her eyes, she stood up and saw what used to be her home, reduced to nothing, with her standing in the middle.
She ran around, hoping to find someone—
But she couldn’t even find a single trace of anyone.
She didn’t want to accept it, but the truth that she had been ignoring ever since she woke up finally caught up to her.
Her legs lost their strength and she fell to the ground.
She told herself to move, that it was a dream, a nightmare, but her body refused to do so as tears kept pouring out of her eyes.
