First Quarter - 22nd day of the 5th moon, Second Lights Out.
- Which would be April 26th, 2015 if you go by the outdated Christian calendar.
Governments worldwide were slow at reacting to the danger. They only worried about their luxury lives being ruined, since all money became digital right before the first crystal clear pictures ever taken of both Big Foot and the Loch Ness monster were leaked. Of course no one believed it nor cared, but the public opinion shifted when they couldn't share funny pictures and jokes on social media due to the pandemic of phantasmagorical possessions of all technological pieces. And so, the people that weren't in positions of power made a powerful decision: cut all electricity off, thus called Lights Out.
During the partition, people made all kinds of decisions: move away in masses, flee to small villages whose lifestyle didn't suffer a big change, flee by yourself letting your favorite fictional character take the wheel or stay in the big cities regardless of what might happen (these were accused of being supernatural themselves).
One of the largest known human settlements was located inside a mountain. There was an abnormally large hole and the multitude came to the very logical conclusion that it was a safe place to stay. It was given the name The Hometown after some groups fled their homes to live in nearby farming lands. In these grounds, you'd get little to no human interaction, given how far houses were from each other. It was used mainly to cultivate garlic, as other vegetables were lower in the newfound food hierarchy.
