“LADY GHOSTWRITER”,  that’s what they always call me. I write stories for the famous authors in our country without credit just to get paid. Just for money. I’m famous in the underworld because of my writing skill. 

My greatest regret as an author was self inserting myself into a book I wrote…

I regretted writing Claudette. 

Because of her, I indeed became a Ghost-like writer, stuck in her body in one of the best selling Novels I wrote.

“Check mate.” I confidently announced to the Cold Prince of Spade. His silver hair reflects the rays of snow coming out the window. His cold blooded gaze behind those silver cold armour must’ve made other people shiver but not me. 

Because I am not the Claudette Beatrice Dolce who was once crawling at his feet just to get his attention. 

“Tell me, my lady. What is it that you wish for and I will grant it.” He said, without showing any emotions. As I have thought. 

I wrote Ace as a reality of what I once sought. The harsh reality of life that I want to grab hold on. Beautiful freedom, yet cold reality.

“Break the engagement, sire.” I coldly replied and his expression slightly changed even though I only saw his eyes and not his face. I can read him like a book of codes.

“I decline.” I shut my eyes and grit my teeth. I contained my anger and heaved an air to calm my compsure. 

“Decline? It’s been 12 years and you kept me waiting. 12 years and you’re still hiding under those scrap of cans. Tell me, do you even have a bit of affection towards the daughter of Duke Dolce?” I asked. I have no intention to marry this man. Marrying him will be the greatest regret and fear of my life because the moment Claudette married the Prince, I gave her the worst death that I have ever imagined.

“You are the only woman who has the sharpest tongue I have ever met.” His only reply so my patience wavered and I dropped my palms over the chess board then leaned closer to him. 

“And you seem to enjoy seeing me lose my patience towards you.” I whispered, getting my teeth when he suddenly leaned closer to me. Despite his cold helmet, I can feel his warm breath grazing my jaw.

“I, the Prince of Spade Kingdom, will soon be the ruler of this nation. Is enjoying my beloved’s fuming face?” His helmet clanked as he looked at me from head to toe.

“I guess you were right.” Anger surged into me and before I knew it, I raised my hand to slap him. I didn’t care about the consequences of my actions but he immediately wrapped his leather gloved hand on my wrist. It was unexpectedly gentle and I hated it!

“What do you want, Ace?” I gritted and he lifted his head. I saw his cold yellow eyes, like the wolves seeping into my soul. 

A predator, pinning on his prey.

He only gazed at me. His eyes scream of want and desire.

“Do you desire me, as Claudette Beatrice Dolce?” I asked and he slightly flinched. 

Claudette, I envy every fibre of your being. I know you were just a character that I once wrote… But the fate I gave to you is dreadful and I cannot accept I will face the same fate as I given you.
